Are Disney on Ice tickets really upwards of $150 per ticket?

I just checked Frozen at Papermill Playhouse NJ this holiday season.



They are running a promo 30UNDER30, so for anyone under 30yo the $80/$110/$130 tickets only cost $30. That’s great! But then everybody over 30yo must pay $80/$110/$130 for those seats

The last time for us was maybe 2016 and i bought them months in advance. I think face value was maybe high $20 range but the fees made it high $30 range. I've also bought at the box office to avoid the Ticketmaster fee.

But this was all physical bearer tickets. I think now it’s nearly all electronic. If it’s certified resale, that can get pricey. Ticketmaster basically allows people to use them as a ticket resale marketplace.

That seems like a lot for Disney on Ice. I've seen them on Groupon as it gets closer to the dates of the show. In Boston, too!

They also have $50 seats in Boston California. The range for today is $50-$300.

They are a lot lower here I guess. A Saturday at 6pm it's just under $35 to just under $49 and for the seats by the ice (which that is a very small section) it's just under $94. That's at least with these available seats (see below). That said the event is in January so it's likely been on sale for a bit.

Scratch the stuff I posted about Boston. The pricing I saw was for a default arena in California. I only stay in Boston part-time. Wrong coast. Correct pricing. Sorry!

I just bought tickets for Disney on Ice in NH as a Christmas gift.
The most expensive seats were over $100.
I had to buy 11 tickets for all our family so I opted for seats on the end of the rink but first two rows for $68 for the Sunday show.
The Saturday afternoon show was even more expensive.
Due to the very young ages of the kids in our party, the 7 pm show was not an option for us.
If you can do a 7pm show or are not afraid of heights, those tickets were cheaper.

UPDATE: Are you going to the ticket sales link directly from the Disney on Ice website? I did, and I'm not seeing very many seats in that range; other than the rinkside seats, most of the first tier tops out at about $80, and there are very good seats available for some shows for about $30. For Boston, they are also offering a hefty "Me + Three" deal on 4-ticket packages, so you might actually save money if there is a second grandchild or a friend who might like to come.

Agganis Arena also has a public box office, and sometimes, if you buy in person at a box office they waive all or part of the service fee; it's worth a call to ask.

The resale sites have the prices jacked, but going directly through the link from the tour homepage seems lower.

YMMV, but I've never found that watching someone twirl and jump around on ice skates enhances the re-telling of a Disney story (and yes I have done it more than once unfortunately). You are better off just sitting down with the family at home and having a family movie night.

I agree myself, but my kids loved it.
