Are Disney Dollars available YET?

Has anyone been in their Disney Store lately to see if the Disney Dollars are back? I'm eagerly waiting to buy some...

we had to bypass a birthday, a holiday and several "rewards" with
NO Disney dollars. We are travelling to WDW and DW, California and
the Disney dollars would have been great - when we give our kids money,
it is spent within a day. I could never understand how they could
'run out' - Our Disney Store told my husband, the middle of May they
would be available.

I don't know but I really want to know the answer as well - I'm going to start buying them to give to my family for our trip next year.

I work for TDS...we have not received any Disney Dollars yet. We were given a memo from the company back in January and were told we'd get them by late spring. I knwo they are redesigning them for the big celebration...my assumption is that they will be released by the time the celebration starts. but don't hold me to that..that's just my own personal guess. None of us have been given a date for when we will be receiving them which is why we don't have any exact information to give guests. All we were told was "late spring" and that's it. Nothing about them since then.

Unfortunately we can't order them, as they're sent to us in allotments. We have no control over how much we'll get and when we'll get them. That is why our stores can and do run out. Especially when we have people buying like $300 at a time (which does happen quite frequently).

I'll be going in to work tomorrow though...we have a number for both WDW and DL where you can order Disney Dollars...but you have to pick them up at the park...we've been told by them that they will not mail it out.

We recently received a referral award from DVC and were surprised that they sent it to us totally in Disney Dollars. We got $10 bills - some with Minnie and some with Mickey and Minnie on the front from years 1998 and 2001. Since I knew they have been hard to come by at Disney Stores, I was surprised to get so many at once.

Was at the store today and the clerk told me they are redesigning them for the new Chicken Little Movie coming out. She said they should have them by the end of the month. I'll be calling starting 5/1!!!

Honestly, I don't know if the disney dollars are in the stores yet but I was going to tell you what my husband and I did. Our last Disney World trip was in Feb. of this yr. and we asked for Disney Dollars for our birthdays, and Christmas. We used just our disney dollars and only spent our own money on the legacy pics @ epcot. I love Disney Dollars!!! We are doing the same thing this year for our trip in Jan.

We were also at the Disney Store today and they were still out. The CM said they should have them at the beginning of May with the new DisneyLand 50th anniversary designs.

Now my mother just ordered and received about $200 DD by ordering through the mail. I can get the address from her or you could possibly do a search.. because I have seen others give the address for doing this also. I believe she was charged something like $3 for shipping.
And miracles will never cease! Thank God for honest people. They actually sent them to the wrong man in another state. Evidentally her info was with them and he, honest guy he was, mailed them to my mother. So nice to hear stories like that.

I ran into the same dilemma on my daughters birthday in March. I actually went to the Disney store and it had closed. I was shocked Then when I went back 2 weeks later it had re-opened in a different place in the mall and they had disney dollars. The manager told me that her store was the only one in many many miles to get them because they were considered a grand opening. There are two different kinds ($1 have chicken little and the $5 have Disneyland on them)

Needless to say I called my whole family to tell them to hurry down and get there fill for this years trip in May 2 -20th


I think that these disney dollars are a good idea. It gives kids something to look forward to using in/on Disney and they can redeem them for cash at DTD also if they dont spend them all.

I got the chicken little dollar bills several months ago (not too thrilling, imho). I don't think that is what all the wait is about. I agree with most people that we are probably all waiting for bills to that will celebrate the DL 50th.........P

That is correct. The Chicken Little design was only for the $1 bill...not any of the others. Our memo specifically stated the bills were being redesigned for the 50th celebration. The $1 was just a promo for the Chicken Little movie. But it's not what the wait is about.

I got the Disney Visa and it came with $15 gift card to (ONLY) the Disney store. Can I use it for Disney Dollars (for DW) or do I have to buy something with it? Does anyone know how long the Gift card is valid for? My trip is not for 9 months and I don't want to to expire and not just want to buy something, I want to wait for the Summer salle for shirts, etc.

Yes, you can use your gift card to purchase Disney Dollars without having to buy anything else (as long as you're buying Disney Dollars AT The Disney Store). Gift cards there never expire, nor do they decrease in value...so you can keep them for several years and you'd still be good. I still get people coming in with credits and certificates that are on paper, even though it's been some time since we've switched to cards.

What we've been told by the company is that you can order them, but they will not send them through the mail...you will have to pick them up at will call. I, personally, just would rather go there myself and buy them since you can go to any Guest Services window and purchase them...no point in me ordering them ahead of time (that's just me though). But those are the numbers TWDC gave us specifically for the Disney Dollars. So if they've switched anything on us, they certainly haven't informed us of it.

I'm so glad to have found this thread! I'm anxious for disney dollars to come back too, even though they don't sell them at Canadian disney stores. I get my disney dollars through various reward programs instead. We're giving all the dd to our nephews for an upcoming trip. I can't wait to see their faces when they see the money!
