Are DDP given priority for ADR's?

Sorry if this has already been answered - but I was jsut curious if those on the DDP are given priority for ADR's? I called to check availability for breakfast and after I gave my party size I was asked if I was on the DDP and when I said no, the CM immediately said they were all booked up for breakfast. It just seemed a little odd that she wouldn't have told me they were all booked BEFORE asking if I was DDP??? Just wondering...

Nope. First come, first served (or in this case first to get adr's)

Whenever I have called it seems like they ask if you're on the DDP while they are waiting for their screen to come up with availability.

it's a research thing. if it makes you feel better, say yes. it honestly won't change anything, promise (unless you're trying to book something normally paid for at time of booking)

they'll often ask if you're on the DDP and where you're staying. nothing more than research.

I've never had the dining plan and I've never had a problem mading a reservation. What breakfast were you trying for? I could be one of the more popular ones.

Actually, they ask if you're on the Dining Plan also to put that notation on the record, so your server is informed, in case you forget to yourself when you place your order. That way, the server can be sure to help you understand what is and is not on the plan.

really.. because the servers have ALWAYS asked me (and i've only had the plan once 2 years ago). and no server has ever noted where i'm staying (sniff).

The last time my family and I had lunch at Prime Time Cafe and the Plaza, it was the host who asked us if were on the DDP which we were not.

when I made my ADR's they never asked if I was DDP or not - just when, how many and where for.

I made a bunch of ADR's for September over the weekend, and I had a CM who gave me the price ranges for all the restaurants we had chosen. "Adults are $15.99 to $31.99, and children's meals are $5.99." It was very strange, but there must be people who ask and/or react negatively to the prices, or else why would she mention it?

You can keep calling and trying--lots of people cancel or change, so spots open up all the time. In the meantime, you might want to book a backup reservation just in case. If you get into the restaurant you really want, you can then cancel the backup at the same time. Good luck!

Yup, I'm with bradk, purely research. I asked one of the CM's one time while I was making my ADRs if it made a difference whether or not I was on the DDP to get seating and she said no. So I asked why they asked or if they're only asking to track the program and she said they're seeing how the plan is doing. So purely research.

UNLESS which I just found this out yesterday you're booking the Spirit of Aloha Luau. Apparently if you want the category 1/up front seating you can't use your DDP credits, they won't seat you in category 1 with the DDP.
