We already own @ OKW but I want to do a tour of SSR during an upcoming visit. Will we be treated the same and given whatever the incentive-de-jour is, or will we just be allowed to look with no fanfare? Also, would it be a problem for just me to go without DH in attendance? Thanks!

My guide once told me that we could just tell them that Bernard said we could see one of the rooms. If you have a guide, call and tell them what you want to do and ask for the procedure.

I believe they just point you in the direction of the models and let you self-tour.

When I went in January, they offered me a drink and pointed me in the direction of the models.

They had been doing self tours for current members on certain days at 5 or 5:30 p.m. The models at SSR were open and current members were free to walk thru. Don't know if they're still doing that........

They just pointed us in the direction of the units, and said a few guides were already there, so go over and take a look! :thumbsup2

Thanks everybody! I'll definitely have to set aside an hour or two to check out SSR. :cool1:

At Disneyland, we had a guide walk us through, as she had to unlock the unit. She was very nice, but as we are owners, there was not too much chat, other than pointing out furnishings etc. No need to discuss points, costs etc.

Since I was already a member and just wanted to check out SSR...our guide was very accomadating. He took time out and showed us around SSR and we even got treated to something to drink along with some ice-cream...just like we were new customers.

I just confirmed this Sunday. SSR models are open to current members between 4 and 7 every day. Or you can call your guide and set up an appointment for a different time. They'll just give you the tour, and skip the information part.

I can't remember which days it was, but when we were staying there a few weeks ago, we'd occassionally see signs out on the sidewalk for member tours. They had the models open from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm to just wander through on your own. It wasn't every day, but I know I saw the signs several times during the two weeks we were there. I don't think they keep the models open all the time. In fact, they were locked when we went up on one of the member tour nights. We were a few minutes early, and they hadn't opened them yet. Edit: I just read the post above me. It sounds like they may have expanded the days and times since we were there.

All the guides are at SSR now. SSR is going to be their permanent sales center. If you're still in touch with your OKW guide, you can probably get him/her to give you a quick tour tailored to what you want to see instead of the full nine yards.

When we were at WDW in late January, although there were evening hours set aside for Members' Tours, we went to SSR on our last day (wouldn't be around in the evening for the special tour hours) and introduced ourselves as SSR owners who had purchased at DL (staying at OKW). We were expecting to be pointed towards the models for a self-tour, but were accompanied by a guide who was quite informative.

DVC has since built models of SSR for tours at DL.
