I'm in Nova Scotia (Annapolis Valley) and with a pretty severe budget I really can't afford Crocs full price. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

My local Shoppers Drug Mart has a knock off for $5.00 right know.
Just got a pair for my son, look, and feel the same as the originals.

As far as I know, retailer's are not allowed to discount the real "crocs". I believe they are the same price everywhere. You can buy the knock offs for much less.....not my choice but some people like them.

I wouldnt go for the $5 knock offs, they seem the same but in the end do not have the same amount of durability.
However...you might want to look for a pair of Holey Soles....They are "brand name" quality and are made in Vancouver BC. They are usually cheaper in Canada. I usually see them between $19 and $25.

I got my Crocs on sale this spring. My kids were buy one get one 1/2 price and mine were only 20.00. And yes they are Disney Crocs. It was at Intrasports in a mall in Edmonton.

We purchased Disney crocs for my son and daughter last week at Athlete's World in Burlington (Mapleview)for $24.99 and then the second pair was half price.:thumbsup2 Adult crocs were buy one pair ($34.99) get the other at half price.

I purchased our Disney crocs last January at Athlete's World. They had a "boxing day/week/month ;) " sale of 15% off all shoes... I asked twice... crocs were included.

I was told at Bay, Sportchek & Athlete's World in my city that they aren't allowed to discount Crocs, yet they are discounted in U.S., plus some of you have mentioned getting discounts, so I'm confused!

Maybe they can't officially mark down the price tags, but when they have a store-wide promotion (i.e. buy one get one half, or take % off regular price) they can get away with it :confused3

I was told absolutely not - that this was a rule from Crocs. I have been in all of these stores with the same sales that you have mentioned, and Crocs has been excluded each time. It is very confusing, indeed!!

So I guess the answer to my question essentially is no...:sad1:

So on to another question....

I don't mind so much paying for something that I will use and will last but should I buy a knock off first to see if it will be something my arches can handle?

I don't think the answer is no, since there is confusion. I wish there was a definite policy as it would be nice to get them on sale.

Good luck in securing a sale somewhere, Tiger :)

we live in new brunswick and know what your talking about. weve tried knockoff crocks but they arent the same. i bought my disney crocs in disney. having really arched feet, ( and small ones at that) i think crocs are fairly comfortable but not the best. i like them better than sneakers but i prefer croc flats or regular flats. my advice would be to try on the crocs at the store and take a tiny walk. if they feel good and your sure your going to use them then buy them. but if your in the situation when you really do need new shoes then i would look at different types of shoes other then crocs. that my opinion anyway. maybe it will help maybe it wont. :confused3 :cloud9: :rolleyes1

First, if you don't like the knockoffs it doesn't mean you won't like the real things. Alot of the knockoffs are really bad.

I got mine on sale for 25% off. Wait until sportcheck or national sports or some chain like that has a "friends and family" weekend, then print out the coupon and voila! discounted crocs!

Can only tell you my experience with them. I wear orthotics in my sneakers and without them my hip aches. I tried Birkenstock sandals last year and after a while I couldn't wear them. I bought a pair of croc sandals: cleo, and wear them a lot and so far they haven't bothered my feet or hips.

I've gotten a few pair for my family at Roots when they have their 25% off sale. I think this sale is a couple times/year.

THANK YOU! That's music to my ears. I've had to wear orthotics from time to time too, mostly for my hips, so this is good to hear.

Thanks so much for everyone's advice. I've signed up for a few Halifax area store email reminders so hopefully something will pop up. Meanwhile I'm going to go try them on in a local store so I'll know what size is best for me....I take everything from a 7.5 to an 8.5 depending on the make!

:confused3 I was thinking I would buy a pair of Crocs at disney but if they are a lot more I will get them at home. The are 34.99 here and I have seen them for 29.99 in Michigan (I live in a border city).

I can't speak for WDW, but when we were at Disneyland last March, they only had adult black Mickey ones available in their park stores. Both my DDs and I had colourful Disney crocs on, and everyone kept stopping us to ask where we bought them because they couldn't find them at all in California stores. Imagine their shock when I said we got them in January in Canada  :lmao:

I would go ahead and get a pair in Michigan. At least you are guaranteed the style, colour, and size you want. You don't want to spend your vacation running from store to store. Plus, they're great to have on hand for that first hotel pool visit :thumbsup2

FYI. I know I'm in the minority here, but I really don't find them that comfortable. I wore them one day in the park, and that was as much as my feet could take. I have narrow feet and I found the Mickey crocs too wide for me. I do wear them for going to the playpark, or when the ground is wet. They're great for going to the pool. Even with my DDs, I make them wear running shoes in the park. I find they're likely to trip if they run with crocs on. They were perfect for the beaches in California though, and the Mickey heads are so darn cute :goodvibes
