Are CA schools off/furlough next week? (10/4-10/8)?

San Jose Unified, which is the biggest school district in San Jose, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) is off until October 11th, 5 furlough days.

So that's why my SJUSD teacher-friend is down at Disneyland RIGHT NOW! I'm so jealous of her.... Augh, she's posting pictures on FB...augh....the torture, the torture...

I am in Northern California in the east bay and we are not off. We have 4 furlough days and ours are spread out through the year. We will be off veterans day and the day after that is the next "break" for us.

The other SJUSD (San Juan) in the "Big Ten" California school districts is definitely not off at any time in October. I wish we were!

The entire Chula Vista Elementary School District and Sweetwater Union High Shool District, part of San Diego county, are off during this2nd week of their Fall break. We always take that time to go to DL for Halloweentime. Although my kids run into their classmates or other kids they know, I don't think it makes a terribly huge impact on crowds since we are off for two weeks for fall break. We have never found it to be super crowded and we have been coming during this time for the past 4 yrs.

My son attends a year round school here in Orange County. He is off until October 18. The three week break started on Sept. 27.

Up here in Nor Cal, no breaks for our kids yet this year.
