Are babies allowed on the rides?

I've been to Disney several times with small children & to Universal once when my DD was 1. However, I am now travelling there with my DD5, DS4, and DS 9 months. What I can't remember is whether or not they will allow babies on rides. I know in Disney you can take them on anything without a height requirement but I thought I rememeber in IA that when we went to go on the Dr Suess ride we had to stand her up to show that she could walk and she had to sit in her own seat. Is this still the case? Can he go on the Dr Suess train or the carousel? What about in US? Can you bring a baby into the movies, i.e. Shrek or Jimmy Neutron, and can they go on rides like ET and Jaws? If he can't go on those rides, is one adult allowed to take 2 children on at the same time?

If we have to baby swap, do they give you a ticket like at Disney or does everyone wait in line & then the people not riding go off somewhere to wait?
Thanks!

Well, for all attractions at IOA and USF, lap sitting is not permitted. (Of course shows are fine, but I'm talking about moving vehicles.) Yes, she will have to be able to walk on her own.

Can an almost 2 year old sit next to you on ET? Is it a bench or an actual seat? I've never been there before and I don't know what a little one can go on.

Thanks for any info.

You actually sit on a bike for ET...it's not a regular seat. I'm not sure if a child that young could sit by themselves.

They are like bicycle seats but with a back and a lap restraint.
There are a few bench type handicap seat.

There is stationary seating available for Shrek and JM.

As far as I know the bolded part is true for every ride. We've only had to use it for MIB and ROTM. DH doesn't do thrill rides (other than ROTM)so he usually takes DD to another ride while I ride Hulk, DD etc.

Just got back to today from our trip. I have a 10 month old daughter that we took as well as our 10 & 11 year olds.

At Universal I took her to see Jimmy Neutron. My entire family waited in line, then when you get to the door the lady asked "how many?" My husband and older girls went into one line and then I went to the stationary seats line right next to them. My daughter did fine with this one.

Next was Shrek. She hated this!!! We sat in the very front row in the stationary seats. You sit very close to the screen and you still feel most of what the audience does, but your seat is still. Water sprays on you and my daughter screemed the entire time. This show was just too loud for her.

That is all she could do in this park.

At IOA we carried her on the Cat in the Hat ride. She had to be able to sit between my husband and I. She COULD NOT sit in our laps even though she was trying to, the lady kept saying "she has to sit dow!" No duh!!

We also took her on the Carosel. We just sat on the bench with her. But hurry, there are only two benchs on this ride.

Well, that was all the riding she did. I think my husband said one small child was being carried in Poseidon's Fury. This would have been too loud for my daughter.

Jaws was closed. Not really much to do here for small kids. We decided this was our last trip to these parks. To me there is really not much to do and it took us a day and a half to do all we wanted.

Thanks for all your responses. I know there won't be that much to do with a little one, but I will just be happy to be in Florida for a few days. Will two days at both parks be enough?
We are staying at RPR for 4 nights. I thought it would be best for the crowded Easter week because of front of the line and the shorter walks.

We may still visit Disney one day in between with left over passes. Little one is obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
This Chicago snow is making me want to leave this week!
You are all so helpful.:thumbsup2

Angelia-

I'm afraid my son might be afraid of the noises too. We went to Disney last year and he wasn't fond of the shows because of the noise. He's almost a year older now so hopefully it's a thing of the past.
Can you sit by the exit doors in the stationary seats so if he doesn't like it we can leave without interrupting?

Good thinking...two days will be plenty of time. Even with the crowds, FOTL will spoil you and you will see everything you'll want to see. :thumbsup2

This isn't a ride, but the Animal Actors on Location is a fun show for kids, so I'd include that in your plans. Also a couple of shows near the Kid Zone area. I've seen Curious George and Barney. There is also the Fievel Playland and Curious George play area.
