Are AP folks switching back to Disney now?

I know many of you canceled your Disney reservation and went with the Swan/Dolphin or off site. Are you going with Disney again? Just curious since so many were down on Disney for the past couple of weeks.

I don't think everybody was down on Disney but as for us we took the sure thing at the SWAN and no we will not switch back now. We cancelled CSR 3 wks ago and have not looked back

Mouse Man,

I do agree with you. The past few weeks there were a few people who flamed Disney and had reservations thru them and switched to the Swan & Dolphin, swearing that they'd never stay on-site at Disney again! But do you really think any of those people are going to post and admit if they do cancel the Swan & Dolphin to come back to Disney? I don't think so! ;)

I had the Dolphin booked for our Christmas trip but I could never bring myself to put down the deposit. With that being our 4th trip in a year I was really wanting to save a few bucks, but ultimately booked the BWI deluxe concierge with the DC rates. I got the AP rate this morning and it was about $20 cheaper a night than the junior suite at the Dolphin.

Now my DH won't kill me:o

I'm hoping there will be some cancellations at the Dolphin. I can get the teacher rate of $129 but not all my dates are available (I'm on a waiting list for OKW so Dolphin seemed like a good backup.)

TTFN!

Still hoping for a tag from the Tag Fairy!

I have that great AP Swan rate for two of my nights in October, but neither Dolphin or Swan have anything the other two nights except the rack rate. Soooooo.....I have the Poly AP for $227 with tax.

I read on another thread that a Swan/Dolphin cast member said today that they were getting cancellations like crazy. If you couldn't get a room at Swan/Dolphin, keep trying something may come up. I just love the location of the S/D, plus it's a great place.

My dates seems to be pretty booked. I've been calling every Friday (when new rates hit their system) but still haven't been able to get all my dates. I read the posts about all the people cancelling but when I called this afternoon they still were booked.

We are sticking with the Swan. In fact, we just added an extra day to our Swan reservations a few days ago. This is the first time that we have ever stayed at a non Disney owned resort and I am looking forward to the location and those HEAVENLY beds.

Here's an AP holder who is sticking with her $62 a night at the Homewood Suites. I have a car anyway and the AP gives me free parking, so it's just not that big of a deal for me to be "immersed" in the magic 24/7, especially since I mostly just sleep in my resort room. (Do you only dream of Mickey if you are on-site?) As a tradeoff, we get 2 TV's, a microwave, frig with icemaker, stovetop, 2 separate rooms, and free breakfast every morning.

Disney resorts have seen the last of me. They've simply priced themselves out of my market when I look at the benefits of staying offsite. (And let the flaming begin!)

The only "on-site" ones I'd consider at this time would be the Swan or Dolphin, mainly because of their location, but they still can't touch the price I have at the Homewood Suites. Although I have to say if I could have gotten that $99 rate during the week I'm going, I would have been awfully tempted!

We will be staying with the Swan also. They wanted our business enough to aggressively compete for it. I am quite excited about trying something new. And if it turns out to be as wonderful as the posters claim, Disney has lost a customer of almost 30 years.

izzy, I don't know if you've stayed at a Homewood Suites before, but we stayed at the one near Baltimore in July, and we loved it!! Good sized bedroom (we were in a 1 BR), nice kitchenette, and a decent sized living room area.

The breakfast was also good - there were waffles, pancakes, cereals, fruit, muffins, bagels, juices, etc.

Homewood Suites has pretty much gained a customer in us when it comes to traveling to and from Disney, Michigan, etc.

AirForceRocks,

This will be our 3rd time staying at this Homewood Suites (it's the one with the Kissimmee address), and we love it. The first one I stayed at was in Tennessee, and we thought it was great. I like Amerisuites or Comfort Suites, too, but I just prefer having the 2 completely separate rooms. I'm surprised people don't recommend Homewood Suites more often. Quite a bargain for the price.

I had cancelled our first 3 nights at POR to get the Swan $99 Labor Day rate......not because I booked what I couldn't afford........ it's just simply a great rate. I couldn't rationalize staying at a moderate when I could stay at a deluxe for that price. I would have booked the Swan for our last 3 nights but that rate wasn't available for those dates. I never intended to switch back. I'm keeping my Swan reservation. :teeth:
