Are any of you worried?

We are going on Nov 26th and had booked 2 nights in HI at beginning of holiday (Sat and SUn) in order to tour around Paris. We would be going into Paris on Sun using RER from HI. We are now a bit worried about this as we have DS 6 and DD 2 with us. Any advice? Should we forget about Paris and buy an extra day's park passes? What do you think? We will be spending remaining 4 nights in DLH. Opinions would be much appreciated.

Hmm... I seem to recall in the DLRP brochure that they can organise a guided bus tour for guests. I think it was £44 per adult and £9 per child 3-11 yrs. There's a day trip. Night trips may have been rethought after all the curfews and trouble but some one else may have more information, the brochure states that the bus leaves at 9.45am outside Disney's Hotel New York and returns about 6.30pm at the same hotel if it's any help. The majority of the sights will be on a main route and there's english commentary on individual head sets on the coach. Is there a bus from your hotel to the village , could you walk across from the village to catch the coach outside HNY?
Hope this helps Nicola, Wifey

After all the hype on the news about the riots and trouble in France we were feeling a bit concerned about aour upcoming trip. It is only 2 and a half weeks until we go. Do any of you feel a little aprehensive about going?? Don't think anyone's said much so far, all we know is that US visitors have been told not to travel to France !!One very concerned Wifey!! :confused3 :confused3

Things like this always worry me! But I'm even more worried about taking the tube to Waterloo when we next go (20th Dec). I'll be really excited on the day, but in the back of my mind will be that worry and that awful memory of 7/7. I will be giving a sigh of relief when I'm safely on DISNEY soil.

Did the Paris day trip last year and quite honestly wouldnt recommend it for small children. The majority of the time is spent either on the bus or the river boat with just an hour round Notre Dame and a couple of hours at the Eiffel Tower free to do as you please. Far better to spend the extra day in the park and wait while the kids are a little older to appreciate the city.

I think you are probably right. That will mean 6 days in the park :earseek: As much as I have wanted to see Paris, perhaps this trip is not the time. Do you think 6 days in the park will be too much?

Nicola, my boss is in Paris all the time and he has reported absolutely no sign of any problems in any of the "main" areas.

Though I understand completely if you are concerned with the children and everything, so what about a visit to the Val d'Europe / Sea Life Centre instead?? I am sorry if this has already been posted and isn't an option!

Thanks Karen. We have a SeaLife Centre very similar here in N. Ireland so that would not really be on my priority list. I am not really into shopping either (unless it is for Disney items ;) ) I think we will either take a risk and hop on the RER into Paris for the day or just spend an additional day in the park. Thanks to everyone for their input!! :flower:
