Are any Character Meals fun for a 10 yr. old DS?

We are going to 2 Character Meals and I need to pin down when and where.:woohoo: I have a 7 yr. old DD and 10 yr. old DS. We will be at Epcot 1 day and AK 1 day, so those and the hotels are open for consideration.

I'd like to take my DD to a Princess Meal and am leaning towards Akersus @ Epcot, is there any other beside the Cinderella one at 1900 and the Castle at MK that I'm missing?

I'm leaning towards Garden Grill @ Epcot for the family as well, it's a hard decision! Is it weird to do 1 in the morning and 1 at night?

Which leads me to...is there any my 10 yr. old DS would like? He's not one of these "too cool" kids, but he is a 10 yr. old boy...and I'd like him to enjoy himself. I've thought about the Donald's Safari one at AK. How is it?

The May Cafe one at Beach Club is also an option. I like the idea of it.

I'm trying to stay away from Lilo & Stitch, Alice & the Mad Hatter, Goofy, Chip, Dale, those ones. The kids have done Goofy's Kitchen and Lilo and Stitch at DL with my folks.

Any ideas? Thanks so much!;)

We have a 14 year old son who still loves character meals! He must get that from me! We went to Cape May last month and he enjoyed it. We thought the food was good. He likes Chef Mickey's. We have done the Garden Grill a few times and it was good.

How about Ohana for breakfast, it is family style and has Lilo and Stitch along with Mickey. This is really bad, but I can't remember if it was Goofy or Pluto. The food is good and the character interaction has always been pretty good.

We also really like crystal palace, I think he likes the Mickey meals better, but we really like the food!

Oops! I must of missed that you were trying to stay away from Lilo and Stitch!

Our only character meal last week was breakfast at the Tusker House in AK. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was relaxing (we had an 8:05 reservation) and the characters looked adorable in their safari outfits (Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy). My DS9 was into all the characters he saw on vacation but my DS12 actually stood up and cracked a smile for pictures at Tusker House!

I was amazed how much DS10 enjoyed Chef Mickey's last week. When I told him we were going to a character meal with Mickey and friends he complained, but he had a great time at the dinner --- he was excited and kept pointing saying "Hey, there's Goofy ...", "Hey, there's Minnie".

I think if you go towards Mickey and friends (the fab 5) he'll enjoy himself.

Second DS was 10 on our first trip and 12 on our second. He loved the character meals. His favorites so far has been Ohana with Lilo and Stitch (Lilo sat at our table and Stitch sounded like he was licking people) Last year we did Akershus for his sister, and he got a kick out of getting his picture taken with Sleeping Beauty (while wearing his "Chicks Dig Me" shirt!)

His all time favorite is Chef Mickey's though.
