are all the WDW resorts booked for Jan. 2008

I was trying to get reservations for the beginning of January in 2008 for a moderate resort and I keep getting a post saying that there are no rooms available at that time. I also tried travelocity and that said the same thing. Can you not reserve rooms a year in advance?Also I tried looking up Universal Studios resorts and they are all booked up in Jan. as well. Does anyone know what is going on? Is it really booked or maybe just a glitch in the system???? Please Help!!

It's probably just that Disney hasn't updated the online reservation system to allow for bookings past December 2007. You can most likely book a room by calling CRO directly. They'll charge you 2007 rates, but when 2008 rates are out, they will automatically adjust your ressie.

Are you trying to book more than 4 people in one room? That could be a problem, esp. if you are trying to book on a site other than Disney's site.

Non-Disney sites will not let you book past December 31st 2007 currently.

You can book using those 'other' sites once Disney announces their rates for next year.. in July & August.

I was booking for 2 people but I was trying the disney.go.com website to check rates and availability for that time and it kept changing my dates back to 2007 and wouldn't let me make one for 2008. That is when I went to travelocity to see if they had any rooms but they said there were no rooms available at any Disney resort except the Swan/Dolphin. I then got curious and tried the Universal Resorts and they said all rooms were unavailable. So I wasn't sure if Disney/Orlando area was just busy at this time or if it was just too early to reserve?? I was checking times around the beginning of Jan. 2008 for a 5-8 night stay. I was trying to see if switching the dates around and nights of stay would make a difference but it didn't. Thanks for all the replies I really appreciate it, and any further insite to this would be a great help.

You cannot book online for 2008 until Disney releases room rates for 2008. As a PP said, that is usually July or August. You can call CRO and book a room for 2008. You will be charged the 2007 regular season rate, with the understanding that your reservation will be modified to reflect the correct rates for 2008 for the season you are traveling (which would be value season for your weekend). You will pay a one night deposit for a room-only reservation, and it will be at the 2007 regular season rate (which might be more than 2008 value season will be). When they release the rates for 2008, you will get an updated confirmation with any additional due or a statement of any extra you have paid.

The WDW marathon is the following weekend next year, so it is unlikely that the resorts are booked, just that they are not yet available online.
