Are all the Costcos in Orlando "out of the way" coming from MCO to DW?

It seems from looking at a map that all the Costcos are north of the MCO to Disney route. IS this the case or are one of them easier to get to along the way particularly looking at the one closer to Universal.

I looked into this before deciding on grocery delivery and it seems that way. I believe I even asked here.

The overall drive time would not be too awful, provided there is no traffic.
Roughly 20 minutes from MCO to Costco.
Roughly 25 mins from Costco to the WDW area.

We will not have a car, so we decided to use Magical Vacation Services to have water delivered from Costco.

It's not directly on the route, but one of the closer ones on Waterbridge Blvd is a business center Costco, which may be kind of rare depending in where you live. It seemed like the businesses it was targeting were snack shops / restaurants. It also had a bit more office furniture at the expense of gardening stuff.

I thought it was a great trade off for vacation purposes if you want to bring snacks and bars into the parks. It was also just a cool different spin on Costco for the Costco enthusiasts.

The business location is basically the same except no bakery, no food court, no clothes, tires.....etc. They have more business center type things, janitorial supplies, plastic tubs of things(mayo, peanut butter, Nutella), vending machine snack boxes. They have a lot of stuff that's packaged with more then a normal Costco because your buying for a business not a residence but they also have the smaller packaged stuff. If you just looking for water/snacks go to the business location.

funny you put it like that as I AM a Costco enthusiast. And no I do not have any business ones near me and always wish I did! This may be a case of getting groceries at Publix as usual and then driving back there myself when the fam is back inside the hotel resting one day. I like to peruse and not be rushed! 😂

We accidentally went to the business costco one year, and ended up driving over to the "normal" one to get everything we needed.

In March we did an instacart delivery order for our costco stuff, and are planning on doing the same thing in January because I'm not going on vacation to spend an extra 60min in the car plus grocery shopping time. (Check your credit cards to see if any of them offer an annual credits/cash-back for instacart orders.)

Why? It would be good to know if someone is looking for similar stuff. I just go there for water/snacks and found it to be just fine.

it was a few years ago and I don't exactly remember. I know we wanted some of the deli counter pre-made stuff, and I think they didn't have it? Or they had things we would normally buy, but it was in an extra-super-mega size?

I do vividly remember walking past a cooler and there was a whole sheep hanging in there. Not something we normally see.

Also, I think the business centers don't carry alcohol. I know FL is already different from some states in that spirits have to be purchased at a separate "liquor store" but I'm pretty sure the lack of beer/wine/etc was one of the reasons we went to the "regular" costco as well.

Ohhhh! Now it makes sense! We were staying at a Marriott vacation resort with the grands & headed to the nearby Costco to load the fridge. No ready to eat section, no food court pizza. I chalked it up to yet another thing weird about Florida. But, now that you mention it, we saw the whole goat too!! I had no idea!

I don’t know about the whole goat, but our local Costco has whole lamb carcasses hanging in one of the coolers. At one time there was also a Costco Business Center open in the adjacent shopping center, but that’s now closed. I assume the merchandise is available at the regular location I frequent. They are resuming an early entry time for Executive members at that location, an hour before the general membership.

Yeah I’ve never seen a chilled carcass in any Costco here in CT 🤷‍♀️🤢

The alcohol thing might be an east coast thing. Idk about the southern and central coast but being born and raised in Mass all of New England had 'package stores' - stand alone places for hard liquor. Beer and Wine could be bought at grocery stores

Throw you even more for a loop in some of those states- Connecticut specifically- they had blue laws on the book up until a couple years ago where no alcohol could be sold on Sundays.

When my wife and I moved to Washington state (Costco central btw) it totally threw me going into a CVS and seeing a handle of cheap vodka prominently displayed on sale.

As for groceries we have just ordered on Amazon. hasn't served us wrong and I've even done another order half way through to add to what we had.

Packies!!! Yup, the ONLY place to buy booze. Not even in grocery stores here in CT. And yes, blue laws proscribed sales after 8PM or on Sundays. It was a fact of life and, amazingly, we all survived!! And our TV had 4 stations and no remote! The generation of instant gratification would never have survived.

the 8pm cut off! many rushed drives in my 20's to get another 6 rack for the night.
