Are all teenage Girls Grumpy

My DD will be 14 in a little over a month. Like Jeafl said, "grumpy" is a very nice way of putting it. On top of her just being a "typical" teenage girl, she is also Bipolar, ADHD, hearing impaired and started her period when she was 9. So, basicly I feel like I'm living in the "funny farm" half the time. ( I also have a 12yr. old DS who is Bipolar, ADHD, OCD and several other things).
It does however make for very interesting conversations and you had better have a sense of humor.

Good Luck to all that have a teenage girl living amongst them!! Remember...to all the females who post, we were once their age and we survived!!

I'm not that grumpy to my mom, because she is allways allowing me to do fun things. I do get grumpy when she doesn't let me do things, and that is when i act like a little angel towards dad :D I know that when my mom is grumpy i stay outta her way or im gonna get in trouble lol!!!

I think the reason most teens are grumpy with Mom is they * KNOW * that no matter what Mom will always be there for them.

My 14 y/o is great! She is no moodier than the rest of us and is fabulous most of the time.

Kinda, well sometimes, hmmm, mostly! My 15 (16 in April) gets the grumpiest with me when I explain for the umpteenth time why I won't let her ride with friends, or car date, or close her bedroom door if she has a male friend over, or I won't let her wear a man's undershirt- the kids call them wife-beaters- in public, or I won't let her get a tatoo, or ....

Ok, I do have to say this....being Grumpy, or any of the rest of the dwarfs, Sleezy included (we won't talk about the clothes wars) does not give them the right to be disrespectful. I get very angry at the way some teens talk to their moms. Yelling, name calling, etc. Not in this house, baby.

You all just described me when I was a million years younger. Although I still will NEVER admit to my Mom that I was anything less than a perfect angel when I was growing up :)

However, you also made me think of a few comments my sister has made about my 14 year old niece. Therefore, I sent my sister a link to this thread.

My 12 yr old DS thinks he knows EVERYTHING!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!
I thought I was the only evil mom in this world!!! My 10 yr old going on 35 is driving me absolutely insane, is that hormones??? If this keeps going on till the age of 20 , can I go to sleep and wake me up when she's 20?? Geez, she fights with her 6 yr old sister, bosses her around big time ( good thing she doesn't let her get to her , LOL ) but yet the rest of the people tell me she's an angel, she's a straight A's student and a role model in school, THAT is not the child that comes home to me!
OH I feel better now!!!:D :D

My kids are 17 and 18 ... recently I had a day with DD (17) when just out of no where it started. I told my husband later that "it was just like someone had flipped a switch." He said "Oh, you mean the "b---h" switch?

What a perfect description!!!

Now when she starts in, I'll act like I'm flipping a switch and then she just has to laugh. Sometimes, I'll tell her to chill out and go take a happy pill. Most times its enough to make her stop and realize how she's acting.

I dread it-I dread it-I dread it!
My DD is 9, and saves all her "best stuff" for me. DH works out of town now, and they really only see each other on weekends. She and I are close, but whoa baby-any little thing sets her off.
Nope, just don't remember it being this way when DS-age 18-was her age. Ahhhh, moms & daughters.
