Are all floors open at BWV?

We are currently here, and we were only able to book a 1BR BWV for the first night. We have a studio BWV booked for the rest of our trip. Been on a waitlist for the 1BR for months, but it hasn’t opened up. I go in to see what’s available, and last night the whole weekend was booked. As of this morning, Saturday through Tuesday is available, Wednesday is not, and then Thursday through Saturday is open. As I’ve been watching the availability for weeks, and seeing the availability flip flop, I’m going to assume, those nights will probably open up. Is this because owners are trying to rent points through brokers and they are booking the rooms to sell specific dates? Is it something else? It’s obviously not crowded.

I think it is just people changing their minds due to travel restrictions & fear of traveling. It is certainly possible that some people who have confirmed reservations are giving up on renting them and cancelling to get at least some points back.

Yes. DVC has temporarily waived the cancel 30 days or less penalty.

Thanks! I didn’t know that. It makes it incredibly difficult to book because it seems like many are booking 3 day weekends, and it’s frustrating knowing that the rooms are most likely going to be available.

With the waiving of holding, I think we are indeed seeing people taking extra time before deciding to cancel.

Try to remember that the online site does not show how many rooms it is so all it takes is one person to cancel that long weekend last minute for it to open up.

A friend just had a waitlist for a boardwalk view studio for mid April come through, 1 night.

Just start grabbing the nights as they open up and have MS combine them when you get all the nights. Have a whole week on wait list is less likely to get filled.

We just cancelled RIV and VGF after I did the online check in, but at 39 days since I didn´t know about the waiving. I just wasn´t feeling good about travelling now, and having to wear a mask all day outside too.

It´s sad that my count down ticker said 39 and now it´s something like 315!

We switched just this past Monday from BCV to a 1BR BWV 31-5. The availability survived long enough to wait out MS 45min hold. As we were crossing our use year we needed MS. Hope you can get something worked out. See you there!

We ended up being able to switch to a better view studio for the rest of the week. We are making the studio work for now. Haven’t killed each other yet and have switched up the morning routines. The bathroom setup is pretty tough with a teenage daughter
