I've read about the luxurious bedding at the Swan and wondered about the beds at the various DVC villas. We own at the VWL and will be taking our very first trip *home* in just two weeks. Is the sofa bed comfy in a 1 bdr. and is it a queen or a double sofa bed? Tell me everything you know!! :wave2:

In a one bedroom, you will have a king sized bed (pretty comfortable) and a queen sized sleeper sofa. It may be the memory foam type mattress or the older folding/somewhat lumpy at times mattress.

In a studio, you will have a queen sized bed with fairly comfortable mattress and a double sleeper sofa. Again, could be the memory foam type or the older type. But, if you stay at OKW, the studio will have two queen sized beds.

DVC does not have the Heavenly Bed. But the beds are pretty comfortable to me.

We rent the 1 bed at BWV and the kingsize bed is very comfortable.I have never slept on the pullout but my wife has and she said its fine.I have heard that the beds and pullouts at BCV and SSR are very comfortable also but have never slept on them personally.

Disclaimer: I could probably sleep on a concrete slab and wouldn't notice the difference.

Many people have said that the beds at Saratoga Springs are very nice. When we were there in December there was a delivery truck sitting outside one of the unfinished buildings. It was for a name-brand company--either Serta or Sealy--don't remember which.

I'm sure all of the other resorts will be getting the same bedding over time--it's just a matter of the schedule used to refurbish the rooms.

I know the beds at BCV have been bashed pretty thoroughly in the past. I've stayed there and it didn't bother me a bit.

Regarding the sofabeds, they introduced a new design at SSR that is a great improvement over the old style "bar in the back" sofabed design. These updated designs have also been spotted in some rooms at OKW and BWV. I'm sure they, too, will hit all of the DVC resorts in the next few years.

WE got back from the Swan and SSR 2/27, NOTHING COMPARES TO THE BEDS AT THE SWAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still dreaming about those beds, and for a mere 1300.00 or 3000.00 you too could have one!! The 1300.oo is just a king bed and box spring, for 3000.00 you get all the bedding also. I am really considering the bed, it was the best sleep I had in ages, after being home a week I am all sore again!

At SSR, they weren't bad, but nothing compared to the SWAN, now the sleeper, thats another story, its different than you regular sleeper, my pop-up camper is more comfortable!! If you like hard mattresses, you will like it, the mattress is maybe 4 inches thick and is conected to the couch, I don't think the mattress can be removed. The furniture at SSR seem very high end, made by thomasville, the couch when sitting on it is very comfortble, but sleeping, YUCK!

I remember the beds in the OKW studio being really comfortable and the VWL studio to be terribly saggy. I think they had just put new mattresses in at OKW. Was just at BCV 1 Br and it was ok - but not as comfortable as OKW. My parents slept on the sofa bed there and said it was ok.

Has anyone done this? I mean for the sofa sleeper. I'm wondering whether or not my kids will get much sleep or if DH and I will end up on the sofa bed just to keep the peace ! :goodvibes

A friend slept on the sleeper sofa in a VWL 1 bedroom last week. It was the old style. She said it was OK.

By the way, VWL still has video players (not recorders), not DVD players.

Thanks for the video tip! Now I won't bother taking up space with DVD's.
