Are Akershus' Hot Entrees, All You Can Eat?

Hey Akershus fans- even though the hot entrees are now brought to your table, will they bring seconds (thirds, fourths...) if you ask? This will be my first visit since the character conversion.

I do not believe that you can get seconds on the entree. You may go back up to the cold bar, but they bring the dessert out to your table as they see you are finishing your main dish.

I think breakfast is all you can eat. I have asked before and people have said they have gotten multiple platters of the breakfast.

No the plated meal is not AYCA, the salad bar is. My DH would have loved that, he loved his salmon!!!

Yes, Disney refers to Akershus breakfast as "Family Style", and anytime I have eaten "Family Style" at Disney ('Ohana breakfast, Garden Grill, etc.), they have always gladly replenished the platters.

Dinner as PP's have said is different.

We have a breakfast ADR and asked that question because I saw some reviews and I think DH could eat the whole platter alone. And he's not even a big guy!

Yep - breakfast is all you can eat. Just ask for more of whatever you'd like!

We went for breakfast, and it was all you can eat. Very good potato casserole!

They really altered the meal here in the past number of years. Used to be hot and cold buffet at lunch and dinner then switched to only cold buffet but all-you-can-eat hot dishes (you could try different dishes but only one at a time) then (to our surprise) a year or two ago they switched to one hot meal only with cold buffet. Unless they have changed again, the desserts still come family style and you can get more of those if you wish.

There used to be a pretty big variety of foods and it was nice to be able to sample different dishes. Now there is less to choose from and you do have to choose one thing. It is still plenty of food IMO but just not the culinary/cultural exploration it used to be. And as for all princesses all the time... great for some but I resent having to pay extra for a "service" that I don't necessarily want.

Sorry ... just remembering the good old days.

We got seconds of the potatoes at Akershus. We asked the server and he brought it to us. We were actually asked if we wanted more of the hot dishes. So, the answer is yes. This is a great breakfast!

Yeah - I miss Akershus the way it used to be before it was a character meal. We haven't been back since.
