It's funny that I moved to NC from up north, and everyone thinks that I have an accent. I find that quite amusing.

Whether it's sexy or not, well, that's another issue all together.

I absolutely love a proper British accent and certainly love to hear an Irish brogue.......I do not think my accent is.. I hate that I drop my "r's" everywhere, a typical Bahsten accent, I pahk my cah in the yahd.... I do try to pronounce those "r's" but they escape me all the time.. Oh well..

Count me in as a Great Britain accent lover. First Welsh (two Welsh uncles) then Scottish, then Irish. And I melt for a refined English accent (think Patrick Stewart and Alan Rickman). As a matter of fact, two men with accents were instrumental in my 'maturing' process

Southern accents disgust me, but I've been told mine is sexy. Who knew?

English & Australian - yum. Irish - YUM! Big city American accents - yuck.

French - also good. I hardly even notice Latino accents any more (can you even call it that?), but I never thought anything of them. Don't think much of middle or far east accents, either, unless they're so bad that I can't understand them.

Another one I hate is that Wisconsin thing.

DH is French, though he's probably the only French man I know that would rather live in the Southern US and drive a rusted out old car. (Which will never happen, I'm a die hard west coast girl!)

He doesn't have much of an accent - it just comes out on certain words. Now his friends that came here have accents that I can't get over. His one friend, it's so thick I swear he sounds like one of the aliens on "Galaxy Quest" it cracks me up every time!

Before DH I was dating an Australian guy, we're still friends but I don't find the accent as cute - the kids have made me watch too much Croc Hunter and The Wiggles.....AHHHHHHHHH!

Am I the only one who loves Eastern European and Russian accents? Like the Doc on ER...
A few years ago, our city hosted the World Police and Fire Games... firemen and policemen from all over the world competed in athletic events. I worked the registration area, and handled most of the non-Americans. Wow! The Czech Republic police dept was fabulous! Looking and speaking! Would have liked to run off with them, but I don't think my DH would have understood!

I have a country twang. It's horrible. Since I've lived in Florida all of my life, I've got this odd southern country accent. A LOT of people think it's funny, but I can't help it. Most of the time, the accent hits me when I don't want it to.

Case in point: before my bf and I started dating, he teased me about how I was a "redneck" since I lived in Daytona. I threw my hands on my hips, looked him right in the eye, and in the most horrible country twang that I've ever had before, I said, "I'm notta reeedneeeck!"

Sigh. He literally sat on the floor laughing.
