Kewl!! Now, I wonder if there is open range time if you have your own equipment.

Carol- Please report back on where the Archery range is located. The information posted says check in is at the Bike Barn. I can't think of anywhere near there where there is a safe place for an archery range.

I decided to cut and paste what is posted on the link about this, as I am having trouble believing that this information is accurate.

Should a 6 year old be handling a "Compound Bow?"

Isn't $25 (plus tax!) for 30 minutes, including training, a little steep?

I am going to have to investigate this.

Archery Experience


START DATE: JULY 3, 2008

Following instructions in the use of a Compound Bow, you'll take aim at the Bullsye in the Range target.

WHERE: Ft. Wilderness

WHEN: Thursday, Friday, Saturday

TIME: 2:45 - 3:15

AGE: 6 and up

PRICE: $25 plus tax

The Archery Experience can be booked by calling 407-WDW-PLAY. Upon arrival you check in at the Ft. Wilderness Bike Barn.

Please allow ample transportation time. Ft. Wilderness prohibits vehicles from going beyond their main entrance. You'll need to use their internal bus or take water transportation from either the Magic Kingdom or Wilderness Lodge.

I shot an arrow into the air - and hit a pigeon. Do they have beer taps here?

I know a place where you can shoot skeet and do wine tasting at the same time. Alcohol and shotguns go well together.

If it was a long bow I'd be all over that, cause' I could always use the practice before next years Rienassance Fair. But, personally I am not interested in a crossbow.

Compound bow not a crossbow

- I can't think of anywhere near there where there is a safe place for an archery range.

Disney does have 47 sq miles.

I was thinking near/at the WL pool-----Bow fishing for pool hoppers


Maybe a 3-D range with peacocks, armadillas, gators and Otters or the fella at the front gate that takes over 1 hr to check you in.

I'd be all over it if it was a crossbow!!! I've had my fill of banging the inside of my arms up using a compound bow lol....plus I've always love shooting things....crossbow would be a brand NEW experience!

Oh goodness!!!!!! I work on the other end of 407-wdw-play and I don't know anything about this!!! That would be why I joined this board, to learn about my job!!!

I will check it out tomorrow at work and see what info I have...I bet it is walk up!!

I can't think of anywhere there is a safe place to walk and not risk being hit my a jacked up cart or a electric scooter........

When we were there a couple weeks ago, they set up targets on the shuffle board court by the meadows pool. Don't know if this is the official spot or they were just seeing how it looked. My girlfriend asked what was up and they said it was a practice training session. Did not see any bows or arrows though.....

It is a trial, just to see how it goes.....
