Is Aquatica a nice water park? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to go there. About how far is it from disney and do you spend a full day there or just a half day? Also if anyone has any pictures I would love to see them. :goodvibes

We were there opening week last year. It was really awsome! Depending upon how much your family likes water parks will determine how long you will want to stay....we stayed all day. It is right next to Sea World and we stayed around the corner, so I can't give you travel time, sorry.

We were there for a day in February and had a great time. We got there at 10 and stayed until 4. The water was very warm which was great when a wind came. A very colorful place. The attractions were great but don't expect to see a dolphin when you go on that one. The food wasn't great and priced high. Lockers were good. We'd go again.

Hmmm...It looks like I'll probably need to change our dining reservations for that day. I had originally planned to spend about a half day there but it seems like we will need more time. :goodvibes

we are also thinking about this place this summer....

anyone know if you can leave with a hand stamp or your bracelet and get back in? (we might want to leave mid day to eat)

if you can't do that....we may consider bringing in food. can you bring in a cooler with food/drinks? (assuming no glass)

I'd like to know about this aswell :) We have added Aquatica to our Discovery Cove tickets for July and were wondering the same thing. Also does the car parking ticket last all day if you leave and come back?

FYI they charge $12 for parking and Disney water parks dont!

I can not give a fair review because we were there just a few hours. However it just feels like any other water park. The dolphin tank is what kind of sets it a part. Other than that just like the water park we have down the road from us. It is newer so there is not a lot of mature landscaping which was noticable to me. I much prefer Typhoon Lagoon.

Really, you would be better off spending $50 to upgrade your Disney tickets to water park and more. Then you could go to TL or BB as much as you want.

Except that Aquatica is a nicer park than the Disney water parks! I'm sure that is a contreversial statement but I found Aquatica awesome. Summet Plummet at Blizzard Beach is great until you do it once and ride home on the plane bruised from the free fall into the water. If you have younger children Aquatica is awesome as my 7 year old did everything in the park and the water everywhere is incredible (warm). It is a great park!

That is good to hear b/c we have Sw and AQ tickets in a hotel package! I was feeling bad about missing TL.
Do they have some tame slides for 8 and 12 year olds who don't like the big ones? Also, how is the shade?

I don't go to water parks much but I felt it was just another water park as well although I really did like the lazy river where you put on life vests and just floated. There was a significant current so you were push around. I will in Orlando on the 15th so over the next coupe days I intend to go to Aquatica as I really enjoyed the lazy river. It was great. The dolphin slide had a line waaaaaaaay tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long for my taste.

I've been to Typhoon Lagoon - I would say it is a tossup with maybe an edge to Typhoon Lagoon because it felt larger to me.

Does the lazy river have a part with a tunnel you go through. I thought I saw somewhere that you go through a part where you can see the fish and stuff similar to the dolphin slides.

At our local water park we spend a good portion of the day on the lazy river so I have a feeling we will be doing the same thing when we're on vacation.

I think you are thinking of what I called the Dolphin Slide. There is a clear tunnel that you go down and on both sides are the dolphins.

The Disney water parks also have a lazy river although I don't think the current is as fast but it winds around the entire park rather than a smaller section

When we were on the lazier of the two rivers, there was a junction where you could decide to go through a tunnel with all types of fish in a tank. That was cool. That lazy river was very short in my opinion. But the not-so-lazy river, Roa's Rapids where you do put on the life vest and float is wonderful and definitely something that Disney doesn't have. We loved it here. We've been both times we were in Florida. We printed our tickets at home and could use them all week so I don't know how the hand stamp thing would work??

Your right, there are two lazy rivers. I'm thinking of Roa's Rapids. At Typhoon Lagoon, the lazy river went around, it seemed, the whole water park whereas at Aquitica, it was a much smaller area. Still Roa's Rapids is great and is where I spent most of my time.

Yeah that's how it is at our local water park. They have one slow lazy river that you use with tubes and another one with a faster current that you can use with life jackets. They're both a lot of fun. :goodvibes

I'm looking forward to the one where you can see the fish at aquatica. Even though the ones at the disney water parks maybe longer I think our son will enjoy seeing the fish and going in the one with the faster current. :flower3:

I wish we had time to do all of the water parks but I don't think we will on this trip. :sad1: Oh well, that's always an excuse to visit the world again.
