Has anyone heard anything about Aquatica, the new Sea World-related water park? Apparently it is going to open in March. One thing that sounds potentially attractive is that they claim there will not be long lines - maybe they are going to require reservations? I love Blizzard Beach, but the lines drive me crazy!

The park that claims to not have long lines or waits is Discovery Cove which is just south of Sea World, they only have a maximum of 1000 guests in the park a day. This is a more exclusive park where you swim with dolphins, snorkel in a reef with tropical fish, food is included and costs about $200 -$300 to get in.Aquatica is just west of Sea World and hasn't made any promises of short waits at any time, and I've been paying attention to this park's news since it was announced a couple of years ago. This park will be more of a traditional waterpark with some marine animals incorporated into some attractions like a clear slide that goes through a pool with Commerson's dolphins.the price will be similar to a Blizzard Beach,WetnWild or Typhoon Lagoon and I expect it to be plenty busy when it opens!!

The "no long lines" argument was initially floated for Aquatica as well (no pun intended). When SW formally announced it last year, it was mentioned that over half the attractions are things you can just "walk onto" like the wave pools, beaches, animal encounters or lazy rivers--not a reservation system or anything, just a product of the park's design. I hear through the grapevine they are keeping attendance fairly limited as well, well below theoretical capacity. That said, a lack of lines has not been a cornerstone of the marketing campaign.
