We are planning on going to Discovery Cove and will probably take the unlimited access to Aquatica, if we take this is there any point going to Wet and Wild or the other water park who's name escapes me.

When you say 'other' water park, are you talking about Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach? Both of which are the most visited water parks in the world and in my opinion are better than Aquatica and Wet 'n' Wild.

If you are choosing between just Aquatica or Wet 'n Wild then Aquatica would get my vote any day of the week. There are some that will say that WnW is a great water park but we have never seen the attraction. I like Aquatica a lot, it has loads of rides and the rapids are great! I just don't think It's as well themed as Disney's water parks.

If I were to order the, water parks in order of preference it would go...

Typhoon Lagoon
Blizzard Beach
Aquatica
Wet 'n' Wild

They all tend to merge into one, I think the ones we have been to are Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach - not sure if we have actually been to wnw now I think about it.

Looking at the website for Aquatica the only thing that seems to be missing is the wave pool (i may be wrong it was only a cursory glance at this stage). Does Aquatica have the really steep water shutes, the ones where you cossie goes up your backside. Not that I will be venturing on that one though.

Just a long shot but do any of the parks have anything like a chargeable wrist band so that you don't have to carry your wallet around with you.

Not 100% about that specifically, but WetnWild DO have a wristband that is similar to Universal's Express Pass. The lines are ridiculous without one, and these wristbands sell out early in the day.

Due to the new subcharge at WnW, if you had to pick one, I'd say Aquatica. Its slides are not as great as WnW, but there are a lot more than at BB or TL and the themeing is not as great as Disney's water parks, but it still surpasses WnW. However, if it's themeing your after, you are way better off with TL or BB :thumbsup2

Actually there are two wave pools - side by side :)

For us it's Aquatica hands down! It's our favourite water park by a long shot. Not at all keen on WnW and we prefer TL to BB.

DH and I discussed it last night and we had opted to go for the Universal 3 park to take advantage of WNW. I remember now our favourite was Typhoon Lagoon and we had said that next time we went back to Florida we wouldn't bother with the rest of the parks but just opt for a two week pass for TL.

Things have changed now and we are going to go to a couple of parks, mainly because the first time we barely touched most of the parks because youngest was ill and second time we were on Gulf Coast and just popped back for a water park day. Third time we had my Mum with us and again probably didn't make as much use as we should have done.

Having said that I am now thinking possibly we will just go for the two park option and forget WNW if Aquatica is the better park. That will save us approx £110 which can be used elsewhere.

Just curious what is the surcharge at WNW is it for the fast pass wrist bands

we have been to all 4 a few times and i find that a water park is a water park. ive just quizzed DH too and he feels the same. if it makes more financial sense to go to aquatic then i wouldnt waste my money on tickets for the others. you can always do them next time anyway. (always plan on a next time) :)

Hi Lucy

I am of the same opinion as you but dh had said it was another park to go to but far better I think to either put that money towards adding the seaworld option on Discovery Cove (I love to watch the Manatees!) :)

Funnily enough, I checked their website a while a go for this as I couldn't remember, but it isn't listed. Though speaking to someone who went recently, the wristbands are still in place. You have to buy them on the day, I *think* they are about $15-20, but don't quote me on that!

Perhaps the Universal board may be able to answer that, if you do decide to go to WnW.

But I think you are doing the right thing by picking Aquatica :)

Kids have just said they are not bothered about Seaworld - ah well I guess its £110 saved. Now lets just hope I can find something else to spend it on.:thumbsup2
