which would you say was better for shade ..as we have two little ones im a bit concerened about keping them covered .

I've not been to aquatica but some reviews I have read have said it is a little short on shade, I know a lot of people rent the cabanas here to ensure that they have shade for their kids but they can be expensive I think.

I thought Typhoon Lagoon was good for it though, lots of trees and stuff to shelter under.

Blizzard beach had a lot of gazebo type things that we used to get out of the sun though, so you might want to consider there too.

i'd say typhoon lagoon too.
and to be honest we were very disappointed in general with aquatica last year, i think it was so overhyped before it opened that there was no way it could live up to the image they'd given it.

TL far better, and plenty of shade

we had a cabana at Aquatica, and without it we would have had virtually no shade!!

In fact the ground was unbearable to walk on bare foot, something I have never had a problem with at the Disney waterparks.

How old are your kids? We took ours 10 months and 2.5 to Typhoon Lagoon and there was plenty of shade, we got their early and picked a great spot.

You can read about our experience in my trip report but it was a bit of a waste of time for us as the kids (water babies the pair of them) just did not enjoy it.

The only things we saw was the kids area before we were in an out in about 2.5 hours with two grumpy children.

Perfect place for when they are a bit older but in our opinion they would have enjoyed the pool at our accommodation better and we wouldn't have had all the hassle.

That said now they are older on our next trip we will certainly return to Typhoon Lagoon.

1. To see the stuff we missed as what we did see was lovely.
2. Because the kids will hopefully get more out of it.

And watch out for them falling over in the kids area, Cullen did twice and grazed his knee and elbow and it looked quite sore. I read reviews about being careful in the wave pool as the waves are quite strong.

Have a great trip.

Our friends swear by the cabanas at aquatica - good shade and someone bringing you drinks all day!

TL.
We did Aquatica this time around and didn't rate it whatsoever.I felt the layout was confusing..I don't think you can beat Disney's waterparks tbh.
