Aquatica menus and what to bring?

I've never been, we are going this summer. Do I need to bring my own towels? Do they allow a couple hand help water bottles in? Does anyone have the menu for the places to eat there? Any other good tips?

Yes, bring your own towels. They do sell them there at the shops as well. You can bring in water and other drinks, but not 2 liter bottles of soda. We also brought in snacks---individual bags of crackers, chips, etc. It says people are not allowed to bring in large bags of chips or sandwiches. We did see a man who had a loaf of bread hidden in his rolled up in his towel!

I don't have the menus. We went to the grill. I can't remember everything, but some items they had were cheesesteak sandwiches, turkey wraps, burgers. For kids meals they had chicken fingers and hot dogs. The kids meals came in a sand pail so the kids used them to dig in the sand near the wave pools.

Oops, hand held water bottles is what I meant, not hand "help", boy what the lack of sleep does!!!

Is there a lot of shade there? Can/should I bring a little kid pop up so my baby doesn't get too burnt?

Someone said there aren't many water fountains so you have to buy water. Is that true? I was thinking of just bringing water and I guess a few snacks that don't melt and baby food.

I didn't realize there was sand so I might bring a bukcet or buy a lunch early on with a bucket. I think my son will love the feeling of sand, I jsut hope he doens't eat it : )

SUNSCREEN and lots of it! The last 2 years the only place we burned was on our Aquatica days. Unfortunately on this trip we burnt on our 2nd day and burnt again on our 2nd to last day. We made the mistake of using our Washington state sunscreen the 1st day and it wasn't quite strong enough and on the last day we were there we used the 90 SPF we got in Orlando but I think we went a little light because it hurt to put it on after our previous burn. It appears that our burns were from being in Roa's Rapids (where we spent most of our time) since our burns seemed to be in the areas that weren't protected by a life vest. By the way this is in no way a complaint about Aquatica, we love it and will be right back in the rapids next year...we will just take a whole new approach to the sunscreen issue.

there is shade but you need to get there early to get it. I would bring the pop-up, plenty of water, a few snacks, and the baby food. Their policy says:

"Coolers may contain:
Snacks in individual serving sizes (cracker packs, under 3 oz bags of chips, fruit snacks, etc)
Bottled water
Baby food in plastic containers"

You can rent loungers with umbrellas on an island in the middle of Roa's Rapids. They cost $50 in high season and include 2 loungers, an umbrella and 2 towels. You have to rent more if you have more than 2 people so not sure if they are really worth it.

Food - they sell pizza, burgers (they have an all you can eat or one-time BBQ with burgers, etc.), and typical theme park food and drinks.

Another aquatica question

Should I bring my DD3 own life jacket or are the ones there just as good? I am seeing that even a lot of the kids slides she will have to wear one?

Also what can she ride with us? Anything.

Thanks.

they have plenty of life jackets for all ages and sizes, I am not sure what restrictions for her age fro the rides it shold be on their website.

90 SPF, didn't even know they made it that high. It is our first day of the trip so I will not want to get burned. Where is the shade? I am not willing to shell out money for the cabanas, I am a cheapskate! That said we bought platinum passes so we can go as often as we like for the next 22 months : )

Do they have water fountains around or do you have to buy water?

We are going on Saturday May 29th, any guess when the park will close for capacity? We fly in late the night before and were thinking it would be a good first day since we could laze about but after hearing about it closing and everything I am wondering if we show up at 11am will it be too late? If so we can go another day. I also noiced it is open late at night, much later than Disney's water parks for some reason so we might go late one day day the crowds leave? What time do you think the corwds are leaving?

We live in No Cal so with the time change I figure we will be up late East coast time the first couple days anyway as we adjust.
