We will be going on Tuesday afternoon May 3rd after doing Seaworld for a couple of hours. How are the crowds at both Seaworld and aquatica this time of year?

We were in Orlando last year on the first week of May (though not at the SW parks), and crowds were very manageable. It was a great time of year to travel! We enjoyed the crowd levels and weather so much, were heading back there again this year from April 23rd to May 3.

We did a package with both Seaworld and Aquatica in April (spring break) and found the crowds at both to also be managable. The weather was also very nice-not too hot, but hot enough to swim.

We had a long trip and cruise last May, and I believe we went to SW and Aquatica in the first or second week of May. We had only been during the summer before and found the parks weren't bare but a lot more manageable than our July/August trips. I think you can kind of get an idea by checking the cabana price calendar on the Aquatica site. They vary quite a bit in price and I imagine they expect lower crowds when the prices are lower. The cutback cove cabanas are $89 weekdays the first two weeks of May rising all the way to $219 Memorial day weekend. We'll be there in July and I'm a little jealous of the anticipated crowds you face. If you go to Aquatic, go around the ROA Rapids a few times for my family and have a great trip.

We love arriving at Aquatica the afternoon. Many people seem to leave starting at about 2pm. By 4pm, it really starts to empty out. We stay in the water until the park actually closes. Most people are done with the showers by 15 minutes after closing so we seldom have to wait for them.

The only proplem with afternoon visits is that storms do tend to pop up with the heating of the day, so the weather could affect your plans.

The crowds at Seaworld are hard to predict. Since it is popular with families with kids, it may not be so busy at opening. Make sure to see the Penguins before the line gets too long.

Last time we were at Aquatica, it was filled with Brits. It can be busy with foreigners on school break when kids in the US are still in school. I'm not sure when their school breaks are.

were you there over Easter break out of curiosity? If so how were the crowds? I wonder if Seaworld gets as bad as Disney over Easter.

A general rule of thumb: if Disney is busy, then SeaWorld and the Universal parks will also be busy.

That said, a busy day at SeaWorld is generally much more manageable than a busy day at a Disney park. The shows are high capacity and can help disperse crowds better than a park filled with mostly rides only.

We usually do the 2nd or 3rd weekend in May. Often do both WDW WPs & Aquatica if it's steamy.

It could be the time of day we visit (early morning into mid afternoon) but never seems to be as busy at Aquatica. imo tend to see more people as to how the landscaping (or lack thereof) is set up there, but the actual lines to do things don't seem as long.

When we only want to spend a few hours before heading to a park, Aquatica is usually our first choice.
