Hi,

I've read a few threads about a possible delay in the opening from 1st March to mid April! Anyone know anything more concrete?

Also, should I buy a 2008 Flexticket (ie includes Aquatica) if it might be delayed beyond our holiday dates?
Why would they sell these tickets if one park may not be ready?

Thanks

Local TV commercials started this week, they say "March." That said, there have been construction problems (I'm heard different things as to their exact nature), so I'm not 100% sure even the SW higher-ups know an exact date. In the preview center, one sign says "March 2008", two others say "Spring 2008".

Clearly, with the typical Spring Break crowds and an early Easter, they would very much like to open sometime in March. Just a question of whether or not they can make it.

:scared1: I certainly hope that this isn't true! I booked Discovery Cove Ultimate tickets for us both just to have this waterpark included! I have to say I won't be very impressed if I miss out, cost me a fortune! :sad2:

Here in the UK tickets are already on sale which are for entry to Aquatica from March 1st. There will be a lot of angry tourists if that's not the case. Surely there are already plans in place for a grand opening?

I spoke with a customer service rep at Aquatica yesterday. We'll be in Orlando the first week of March and are considering visiting Aquatica instead of our usual Typhoon Lagoon. If we purchase the two-park ticket we get SeaWorld and the water park for a great price. My concern was that we lose out if the water park isn't open yet and they ASSURED me that March
1st was a definite. I'm going to put my faith in the SeaWorld people and buy the online tickets. I'll be disappointed if the park isn't open, but more disappointed in the SeaWorld people if they are selling tickets that won't be good.

Now, if someone could just make sure that the weather cooperates that week...:)

FWIW, I'm not far from SW/Aquatica and have heard no news about a delay of any kind. I drive by Aquatica several times a week and it sure is looking close to being finished from what I can tell.

I phoned Sea World a few days ago and they told me that Aquatica will open on March 1st for a soft opening. Anyone can enter the park, it is not limited to pass holders. On March 14th, Aquatica will open officially. We ordered our tickets online and have received them already! Very excited

We will be in Orlando between Feb 9 and Feb 16. I guess we will not the oppurtunity to go to Aquatica?

FYI: I just spoke with a Seaworld rep on the phone and she also said the opening was indeed March 1 with the official grand opening March 15th. She also said park hours would vary by season but, most likely for March it would open at 10:00 AM and close most likely around 6:00 PM.

We will be in Orlando the week of 4/5-4/12. I was thinking about checking out Aquatica. Do you think that it will be way too busy because it's new or slower because it's new and many people don't know about it yet? Dhould we avoid this place?

The scuttlebutt is that Aquatica will (at least initially) limit attendance far below theoretical capacity to avoid long lines. Also, a lot of the attractions were designed to be line-less. So I wouldn't expect it to be crazy busy. Obviously we can make a better prediction once the place actually opens.

Speaking of that, I know SW has "officially" announced a March 1 opening...but I'll still believe it when I see it. Things are still not complete over there.

I've also booked DS with 7 day free pass into Aquatica

Hope it's open for Easter
