Aquaduck pictures

I believe I read in the older Navigators that pictures are taken on the Aquaduck on sea days. We are doing a western on the Fantasy and I wondered how the Aquaduck pictures work, is it only on sea days? If so, do they do Aquaduck pictures on the Costa Maya day before we reach port?
I know the Costa Maya day is a late port arrival and they do Palo brunch which usually is only offered on sea days, so I wondered about the pictures.

It is my understanding that they do Aquaduck pictures for the first 3 days only. Regardless of where the ship is. When we sailed in May we had to look through piles of photos to find ours. I believe they do have the photo/face matching, but it's more difficult becuase of the water (or something like that). HTH

On the Fantasy Eastern my picture was taken on Sunday, and it did wind up in my folder at shutters.

It uses facial recognition and only shows up on the digital shutters kiosk now. So you need to check the kiosk because they won’t be in your folder. A Shutters Cast Member said there are so many repeat Aquaduck photos that they were printing so many extra photos they moved all the aquaducks to the digital kiosk. If you want a print you have to order it and it takes overnight to print so I can see they might want to shoot you earlier in the cruise. The last night of the cruise at Shutters is a zoo. Ours was taken the first night (Pretty Late). There are a lot of “misses” for photos it can’t match. We rode the aquaduck several times and had several shots to choose from.
