Aqua duck question

How old is your daughter? Little littles are not allowed...I.e. No infants
BUT
Yes she can go on in with you...right in front of you on your lap.

She is 6 but can't sit up on her own which is why I was hoping I could hold her.

I have not seen an adult holding a child on either of our cruises. I hope you can find a way to make it work. It is fun!

I saw many sitting together the child in front the adult At the back legs either side of child holding at the belly. It's the standard thing.

She will need to meet the height requirement of 42" tall. If she does Disney will try and let her ride if they feel it's safe. They really want everyone to have a great cruise but safety first.
I suggest going by Guest Services and asking to meet with the manager of that area and asking before hand. That wY if the answer is no it won't be as big of disappointment as standing in line and being told no.

I doubt that they would allow you to hold her during the ride because the dips and turns were designed for each rider to be seated in the raft, however, the front rider is just sort of laying back in the raft with the back rider's legs on either side of her. It might work out OK. I don't remember any signs on the ride requiring that the rider be able to stand/walk/sit up, etc.

Do a youtube search for "Aqua Duck" to get a better idea of what the rafts look like to see if it would be a possibility for your daughter. Also, note that the upper platform to the ride is not accessible (unless there's a hidden entrance that I've never noticed); you would have to carry her up the stairs which are rather narrow in some places. I'm sure others would be happy to assist you ... if DCL OK's her to ride, I can't imagine that crew & passengers wouldn't help you make it happen.

The restrictions say board in and out without restrictions and climb up to the ride its not handicap accessible. Can your daughter do that without assistance?

The climb to the ride may not be handicap accessible meaning no ramps, etc., but I'm sure there is ZERO issue with you carrying the child up the stairs ;) In addition, she would be leaning into the back of the hole in the front of the tube, and you would have your legs around her, so I think it would be totally fine. Holding her with your hands wouldn't work though since you will be sitting back too far. Enjoy!!!

I don't believe they'll actually allow you to hold her on your lap, but you can ride tandem on the raft. She'll sit in the front indent while you sit behind with your legs on either side of her; however your arms are not likely to be able to reach/hold her. She may be required to be able to hold on by herself; if she can't hold herself in position, it may not be safe. There are no seat belts or safety harnesses or anything.

As others mention, unless she can climb stairs you will need to carry her.

Enjoy your cruise!

Since all we know is that she cannot sit up on her own, everything else is just hypothetical. But for a child who cannot sit up, I wonder if she can get into and out of the raft on her own. Getting in is one thing, if they will allow assistance. But getting out is tricky business even for fully able-bodied people. My son was able to pop right out, but I (a normal sized person) struggled to get up before the next raft came down! If you will have to get her out as well as yourself, this might be a place where you will want to watch the exit for a bit before making the choice to go on the ride.

Here is a video I found on Youtube. It shows what the intertube that you will ride in. There are 2 different places to sit. So not sure if they would let 2 people sit in one hole?? Hope they let you ride.

great video for you to review. She needs to be able to get in and out on her own. You could probably assist her in but you will not be able to get her out when you are done because you will not be able to get out with her in the front spot. I would recommend you talk with CMs at the bottom first to see if another family member could help get her out.

I hope they allow you, but I doubt they will allow her to ride. Good luck!
