Ok - just in case - I have a couple of AP questions...

How is the best way to buy them???

How do they work???

How do you get the hotel discounts???

Anything else I should know about them???

Thanks!!!

How you should buy them depends on your plans. Many people find it nice to buy a park hopper for one trip, then upgrade during or at the end of the trip. Then you'll have it for the next trip, but get to use things like early entry during the first trip. If you want to do that you'll want to upgrade after any black out dates in your trip, after you use EE, and before the end of the last day you are there. You can do it at the bank on main street. They will give you full credit for what you paid for your hopper.

Standard hotel discounts are not great. They are about 10% off the published "rack rate". Sometimes you can get a better deal just booking thru someone like expedia, orbitz or getawaytoday. Now and then, like right now, they offer a/p rates. Sometimes they are great, sometimes just ok. They are typically during the off season, and not always easy to get.

Your a/p will get you discounts on most food in the park. Its 10% for deluxe and 15% for premium. Premium also gets some discounts on merchandise and includes parking. You can purchase parking or stroller rentals add ons, for the deluxe. Deluxe has some black out dates during the year. Usually weekends during busy times. Its $30 to purchase a pass for a black out date.

Yes, if you could go before 2/14, they have really good AP rates right now. I wouldn't count on any besides the standard 10% that hlbtimes2 mentioned during Spring Break when you want to go though! But you never know!

I think you shoould do it, you are not much further than we are and it's so great to look forward to a couple trips a year! Get those AP's!!!

I am going to talk to DH tonight about it - I really think that is the way to go right now. The other thing that I didn't mention before is we will get reimbursed $3K even if we only spend $2K - so I am thinking about buying the AP's, staying 4 nights during Spring Break for about 2K, then going back during fall break (which is during gay days - I am hoping for gay day rates still) - and who knows.....maybe I can sneak in another trip too!!! This will give us a lot of extra spending $$$, and a trip that we were going to take for way cheaper!!!

That sounds like a perfect plan, especially since you don't have to spend the whole amount!! It's free Ap's you can't beat that. And without ticket expense each time, trips can be really cheap!
