AP's to get 20 FP+ per quarter

I have a question- I apologize for not reading through all 80-something pages, but the question is, if I am a passholder, and have a Magicband with my pass on it, and then make a reservation and check into a resort, will I then have to wear a second Magicband that has my room key and charging privileges on it? That would be kind of ridiculous. :rolleyes2

I don't see why they couldn't add your "room key" to your Magicband with the pass on it (which would be set to expire on your check out date).

The pass will not be stored on the magic band. The band will access your Disney account which will have your annual pass information. One band should be able to access your entire account - AP, resort, charging privileges, dining if you have it. You will not need separate bands for separate components. Apparently we are supposed to stop thinking of tickets, room, dining and charging as separate components on separate systems. Components that expire (room stay, dining credits) will no longer be in your account after their expiration date.

I still can't link my DVC Reservations with MDE...apparently, the MDE site does not believe people should ever have apostrophes in their name (if you enter one, it says it is an illegal character). I have to call the technical support number at some point and discuss it with them, and then likely call Member Services and have the apostrophes removed from my account - and who knows what can of worms that might open...

Where can I attempt to link? I can't even reach MDe page.

:thumbsup2 Thats why FP was first invented, it isn't really to enhance the guests experience. Since they don't charge for the perk like most parks, it's so that people will walk around the parks, buy drinks, buy snacks, buy merchandise while they're waiting for their ride time. In a line, there is nothing to purchase.

Which people don't do - they ride other attractions, or worse e-tickets, multiple times instead.

Which is why FP as we know it is going the way of the dodo.

Some people do go on rides. While waiting for FP personally we have gone on rides, bought merchandise, bought snacks, had lunch, had dinner, gone to meet characters, watched Wishes, watched Parades, taken photos, gone to the restroom and... shall I continue the list?

However it is absolutely 100000000000000000000000% guaranteed that if I'm waiting in line for a ride, I'm NOT spending money somewhere else in Disney World. Waiting in line is "free" and Disney isn't a fan of the word free!

The only problem is see is, at least for us, the new system is going to cause us to stand in more lines not less. Maybe that isn't the case for everyone, but I can definatelly say it will be for us.

For some reason, I can't quote posts now...but a new DVC site is probably to help integrate more with My Disney Experience, not to create a separate site for management.

Dont know if its the same for you but we have a hyphen in our surname and ours works by just leaving it out.

Oh, that's much better then, TDC Nala, thank you. I was wondering how they were going to do both systems with passholders. Hmm should be interesting.

This is worth repeating. The magic band will not contain ANY information other than your personal Disney reference number. All the other information - resort, room, ADRs, tickets, FPs, charging, even name and celebrations - will be stored on Disney's servers to be called up on demand using that account/file number. That's how the bands will be able to be reused, and it is how "adding" an AP is possible, and it is how your credit card information will be secured.

It is also why the worries about "What if some unsavory character is walking around the parks with an RFID reader?" are unfounded; we aren't all going to be walking around with wristbands capable of broadcasting our names and credit card numbers willy-nilly, and stealing anything from the bands will require access to a computer terminal that can access Disney's servers.

This is too level-headed. You must be lost... ;)

Thanks for posting this so clearly and concisely. Now I can refer others to it!! :)

Okay we have DVC Ap's....so that would mean we would be allowed 20 FP per person per quarter. We usually visit twice a year each for 7 days. That means I would get less than 3 FP per day per visit? :confused3

This rumor seems to have gone pretty cold. Last we heard Disney was still trying to figure out what to do for AP holders.

OMG -- IT'S BAAACCCKKKK!!!!

Just when you thought the thread was dead and gone, it rises, steaming and gory, from the crypt...
