APs are coming

I am so annoyed nothing is announced. I guess they are going to be SLAMMED the minute this opened up, and cash payers actually expect reasonable service. So maybe Friday didn't make sense. Come on Monday!

Curious what you Gold Pass members do - I have never purchased one in the past, but now we know we will be planning 2 more trips in 2022. Unfortunately, one of them is Christmas 2022. I realize that is normally a blackout period.

Therefore, I assume it doesn't make financial sense to buy the Gold Pass although the other trip is not blacked out. Do people pay for the next level pass or is there some way around this I am not thinking about???

I will do a spreadsheet of pricing but wanted to hear from other people who may have experienced this.

People who have the black out period to start have been able to buy a ticket, and upgrade on the last day they were in the park to gold to avoid it.

But, with your blackout trip second, that strategy won’t work…and of course, we don’t know if it still will once things are up and running again.

I believe you can upgrade the gold to the platinum at anytime, so if that is the case, it puts off the extra for a bit. The drawback is if a price increase happens, you are stuck.

IMO, if you know you are going during a black out, I’d just go with the platinum to start.

Still mad after having AP’s forever, and not renewing Nov ‘19 , so not eligible for new pass. Lol- i know there are bigger problems out there. Just venting.

I hear you 100%! I knew back in 2019 that I would need AP’s for my girls in 2021 or ‘22… I knew I could even avoid any price hikes by just buying them… but it was still a few grand in tix I knew we wouldn’t be using for years… so, I waited. After 2020 hit, I wasn’t sure we’d travel when we’d planned… so I continued waiting, until I suddenly feared they might stop selling AP’s- and I was literally a day late to the game.

The regret is real. (even as a “1st-world problem” )

Yah, just got the AP e-mail. Looks like they will have a Gold pass (now the Sorcerer Pass) that DVC members will be able to buy. We'll see what difference it has. Looks like Photopass is going to be an add-on for everyone now.

Still includes standard theme parking plus up to 20% off dining, merch and more. Access to bonus reservations. CUSTOMIZE YOUR PASS with different options like photopass downloads or water parks and sports options. They took away the included photopass

Yup they've traded Easter blockout dates for Thanksgiving, raised the price $180 per ticket, and took away Memory Maker which now costs $100.

Yah, they are squeezing everyone for another few hundred to get the photopass. That was a big perk for the APs.

Which lines up to the historical. The other cheaper passes are "new" it seems.

Also in the past you could get a DVC discount on the top end pass even though it didn't list it on the main site so possibly once this goes live there will be a DVC discount.
