AP's and PP rates

I have seen some people write that they have been able to stay at the Paradise Pier for like $79 a night with their AP discount. Since we are going for 2 weeks in October and there are no blackout dates then, I was wondering if it would pay off to purchase the AP and be able to stay at a Disney hotel (which we can´t afford otherwise)?

Does anyone know what AP rates there are available for PP in October (Standard room)?

It seems I can´t see the deals on the Disneyland website unless I have already bought the AP's.

Are there any additional fees at the resorts other than parking?

Passholder rates for October will be released in mid to late September.

You should watch Mousesavers.com. It is a wonderful website and really helps to save money. The site will tell you when the AP rates are coming out closer to the time. When they do come out, they will give you the code and the rates. This is an awesome site--I check it daily. We are new AP holders and our passes have not been activated yet. I saved $758 on our hotels for our upcoming JUly trip!

I actually went ahead and booked the Howard Johnson, right across from Disneyland. I can always cancel it if Disney comes out with good AP holders discounts. However, it seems like a nice hotel and with a nice pool and I have only heard some pretty bad stories of the pool at PPH.

After all, we´re on a tight budget so we´ll have to go with what turns out to be the cheapest (although it has to be clean and kid friendly).

I'm most definitely buying AP's this year... But my question is about vouchers vs passes.

If I have a voucher, can I get a discount on the hotel room? Or do I have to wait until I have the actual pass in hand?

Also, what is the cheapest AP rate anyone has seen at the WL?
