I am unsure of how this works:

I am planning a trip in January with my daughter. I will have upgraded to an AP by then for myself. If I buy her ticket now (before the increase), will I still be able to purchase the DDP?

I know! A legitamate question from Rosie! Shocking!! :scared1:

First, are you a DVC member or are you renting points from a DVC member?

If you are, tickets don't matter as there is no requirement for tickets for DVC members (and subsequently renters of theirs).

If neither apply, then all individuals in the room are required to purchase at least one, one day park ticket each, even if you hold APs.

Not a DVC member. I was under the impression that holding an AP you could purchase the DDP for yourself without needing to buy park tickets.

You can.
They changed it last year.
AP holders may now purchase the DDP as part of their room package without having to buy park passes.

Edit: You may have to book your room on an AP rate for this to work. I just tried to do it on the regular WDW site and I can't get it to take tickets out. I don't have a valid AP so I can't get to the AP website. But I am POSITIVE you can do this.

So if I hold a pass and DD does not...do I need to purchase her park tickets through Disney in order to include her on the DDP?

I don't think it matters. I think the rule is that the person booking the room has to have an AP, and everybody in the room has to have the same dining plan. So you book the room with your AP and your DD is listed with you as an occupant. I have never personally done this, because we were on free dining in '07 and we were DVC in '08 but I have friends who have added DDP to an AP room.

I am pretty sure that as long as the person who books the room has a valid AP they don't care what tickets everybody else has.

Sweet! Maybe I'll buy her ticket before the price hike.
