Sorry if this is on the wrong board but I was wondering if anyone was playing April Fool's jokes on family and friends today and how it was turning out.

I called my DH and told him not to freak out but I thought I was in labor (im 33 1/2 weeks along). He did freak out asking in a panic voice if I had called the doctor yet. I felt really bad so ended it there saying April Fool's... he was a lil mad than got over it and made me promise not to scare him like that again. It was the first time I had ever actually gotten him.:goodvibes It was pretty funny tho and even he thinks its funny now (its a couple hours after I did it) at least he has a sense of humor.:lovestruc

Hoping that this will be fun hearing the stories.popcorn::

Nothing that good. I did just pop some meatloaf cupcakes in the oven. When they come out I am going to top them with mashed potato frosting so when they get off the bus they will come home to cupcakes.

We got my DD8 good this morning. We told her it had snowed. Not very original but she fell for it. She was mad at the though that she was goin g to have to wear boots again. She throughly enjoyed it when she realized.

My DD10 got me good. She took the Special K Red Berry bag out of the box and put in the Frosted Flakes. DD8 has a tendency to eat out the strawberries so I started yelling for her to get in there before it hit me. Very clever. I actually thought she picked out all the strawberries. Her way was much better.

Last year I packed sandwiches for everyone's lunch and left the plastic on the cheese. They made sure I wasn't going to trick them this morning so they watched me pack the lunches. I didn't know what I was going to do so I made PB&Js but only the jelly was on the inside, the PB was on the outside on the bottom of the containers so when they went to grab it out of the tupperware they will get PB on their fingers. I did pack napkins!

We are off to Chuck E Cheese tongiht for a school fundraiser. I thought about going to the wrong one first but they are a good distance away from each other and I didn't want to waste the gas so we are probably done for today.

We're working on tricks for this evening.

This morning I told DS10 that his teacher had emailed me and realized she had a mistake and he really had NOt earned "Fun Friday" (which is their last-friday-of-the-month-party-for-those-without-behavior/assignment-cards)
Anyway, he looked at me and yelled "WHAT??" He immediately got a tear and I had to tell him right away. I didn't realize he wanted the party so much!

Last year we made supper for DH and we used green airhead candy, rolled it into little balls and I put them in a bowl like they were peas. He's the only on who eats peas so we all laughed!

I got to work early this morning and called my boss from my cell and left him a message saying I was really sick and wasn't coming into work, then as my co-workers arrived I had each of them do the same thing, 1 guy said he had gotten pulled over and arrested and didn't know if he would come in or not depending on when he got bailed out. Another lady called after him and said she had gotten a phone call to go bail out co-worker so she would probably be late. Another lady said she had to take her dog to the emergency vet. When my boss came in- his door is down the hall from ours- the 1st thing he did was listen to his VM and then came storming down the hall and came into the office. He really thought that everybody was out this morning!

Last year, we put tape over the mouthpiece of his phone and every call he got he sounded muffled so the other person would keep saying "speak up I can't hear you very well" so he would always end up yelling into the phone! He called from a different phone and had the tech come take a look at it, so while he was out for lunch we took the tape off his phone and the tech looked at it and couldn't find anything wrong with it and called his office and they said they could hear him fine, so he just gave my boss this crazy look and walked out saying maybe he needed to speak more clearly because there was nothing wrong with the phone. It was great!

Pulled my last April fools joke 8 years ago. I told DH I was pregnant then said April Fools, Well April Fools on me. Found out I was pregnant, had DD Dec.11th.

I have not pulled another joke since.

My mom got me good this morning -

Mom......"Your daddy and I talked about it and we're not going to Disney this time, y'all can go but we're not going :scared1:"

I was freaking out!!:eek::eek:All of our trips they have gone and I just don't want to go without them anytime soon!

After I pitched a fit, she said " Did you tell Liz (DD11) about what today is?" Then it hit me and she said....."April Fools! Just kidding!!!"

It was the worst joke ever!!! But I'm over it now. LOL :wizard:

One of our math teachers gave a hard Algebra 2 test to an Algebra 1 class and once they started panicking after reading the problems, he told them "April Fool's."

I told my 3 kids today we where not going to WDW in May, man BAD idea. I had to tell them the truth fast. I did it because they tried to get me this morning and I didnt fall for it. I wanted till tonght and the 2 oldest forgot about tonight also being april fools. I dont think Im going to do that to them again. My 4 y/o just shook his head and looked off, after I told him we are still going.

Goodness - coming from someone who has early labor, if I ever said that to my husband.... God only knows what would happen. I personally don't see that as even remotely funny. :confused3

My hubby brought home desert BDU's one year saying he was deploying with the JAG corp to fill in some slots in Afghanistan a few years back (which was happening in the army, just not at our post) and I started bawling my eyes out on the spot. I told him it was a terrible hurtful thing to do and he hasn't played an april fools gag on me since. lol.

Someone who believes in "old wives' tales" told me a while back that you can't pull April Fool's pranks/jokes after 12 noon or they backfire on you later. So keep the jokes to April 1st mornings, haha.

Not a fan of April Fools jokes..Lots of people I know have taken it wayyy tooo far and feelings have gotten hurt and fights ensued..no jokes for me.

Not wanting to be a party-pooper, but I was thinking the same thing. Not something I would want to joke about or wish upon my worst enemy. Kind of a sore subject with those of us that have given birth to premature babies.

Are you serious?? People can't joke anymore? A sore subject?

Butting in here, but it can be a touchy topic for some. Have you ever had a baby born so early that he/she didn't live??? :sad1:

Yeah, I'd consider that a sore subject.

Nope, but I did have a child early, who has major medical issues, and likely won't live to see adulthood. So, I've been there and don't expect people to never talk about it, joke about it etc. Thats why it is called a joke. A JOKE!! There wasn't any maliciousness in what the OP did. It was April Fools Day, and people need to lighten up.

I'm sure the OP meant no harm, and I'm glad her DH has come around to her joke. But if, for instance, my DH had called me yesterday and told me something was wrong with or happened to DD as a joke, no that would not be funny to me. Not even a few hours later. Or today, after I'd slept on it. Or next year if he said, "remember what I did to you last year". :sad2: Guess I can't take a joke. :confused3

Back to the orginal intent of this thread:

A few years ago I pulled a great April Fools prank on my SIL, we were planning a trip to WDW in Sept so I called her and told her we won a free trip for all of us, there we just a few strings attached. We were picked to be a disney family and we would be filmed the whole time we were there, we would also have to wear matching outfits the whole time and act really super cheesy, I really had her going! She was actually relived when I told her it was a joke!

Need a reminder to look this thread up before April 1 2011.

Sorry, I didn't do any April Fools Jokes. Nobody did any to me either.
