I would appreciate any help with the planning of our family trip to DC. This is a last minute trip (4/6-4/11) to use up some flight vouchers. The trip will be me, DH and DD12. We will be flying into Baltimore and only using public transportation. With this being pretty much an extra trip, I want to keep it cheap. Most of the sightseeing will be the typical tourist spots since this is the first trip for all of us, so we know we will not be spending much on on our activities. OK, I was in DC before, but that was the 8th grade class trip and that was many years ago, LOL.
My biggest issue is booking our hotel. DH has enough Holiday Inn group points for 1 night, and enough expedia points (credits, whatever) for one night....so that leaves paying for 3 nights. Looking for something near a metro stop within a few miles from the Mall, monuments, etc. Walking distance to family restaurants and grocery stores a plus. A pool is very desirable.
