April Use Year AKV

So now I'm looking at a 100 point contract with an April use year at AKV. I haven't seen more than one or two w/ an April u.y.. Does anyone know if it's rare or if that's just still sitting in inventory? I think we'll buy the 100 points to "try it out" and then add on either with another 50-100 points at AKV or 100 points at BLT in a few years. I just don't want to stick myself with a "bad" use year - kwim?

We got an April UY when we bought AKV in Oct 2007. This works great for us in making ressies at 11 mths for Feb and April school vacations. I don't know if April is rare or not. BTW, we're doing an addon at AKV or BLT and would have made an offer on that listing but don't need 100pts. Good luck!

I have an April UY. I can't answer your question as to whether they are rare; I suspect not.

Which UY you desire really depends on when you travel. Remember that you have 8 months from the start of your UY to bank your points or you will lose any unused points. Keep that in mind when selecting your UY.

We have both April and Oct UY's. I have no reason to believe that either are rare.

When deciding on UY, you really want to think about when you travel. Since banking can only occur in the first 8 months of the UY, you want to be in a situation, in case you had to cancel a trip more than 31 days in advance, that you have flexibility to bank the points, or reschedule your vacation.

With an April UY, you would have until November 30th to bank the points. If you typically travel to WDW anytimg during April through December, than this is a great UY for you. If your travel is Jan/Feb/March, then you might want to look for a different UY.

We have an April UY. I don't think any UY is technically a bad one, you just have to figure out what works for when you travel. We generally take one long trip a year and this always occurs in late May/early June, with an occasional short trip sometime in Novermber so April works perfectly for us. If you generally like to travel in Jan/Feb then a Dec UY would be good, if you like to travel in Nov/Dec then an Oct UY would be a good choice and so on.
