Hello fellow Dis'ers!

Finally getting back to Disneyland (divorce:sad2:) in April with a couple friends. Have a couple questions.

1. Planning on staying at Park Place Inn. Is the cross-walk across Harbor still open? Is this still the way into the parks? I know there is construction going on around there, but didn't know how far along they are with it. Our other choice is staying at Candy Cane Inn. You can still walk down that side of the street to entrance, right?

2. I'm on the fence about the MaxPass situation. Seems like it might be offered while we are there. I don't see that as needed in April? I'm not the type that HAS to do something or my trip is ruined. And Disneyland isn't so big that you can't walk to a kiosk and get a fast-pass if you want one. -- that being said -- I LOVE the magic bands and all you can do with them at WDW. I thought it was user friendly and I loved making fast passes for later in the day. So if I were to use this new system at Disneyland, if you buy into it, can you only use it for, say, two out of the five day pass? Or will you have to buy it for everyday if you want even one day? Kind of like they do with the dining plan.

3. We are planning on doing the World of Color Dessert. Does it run every night or just weekends? It's getting close to my 60 day window so want to get that set up soon.

Thanks for your thoughts and help!

1. I haven't heard that the cross walk across Harbor has been closed. I don't think any of the construction that will impact Harbor Blvd has even gotten past the concept design stage - I know there is there a group of Habor Blvd business owners that are challenging the original design, so it sounds like things are still under discussion.

2. At this point, very little is known about the MaxPass program. Disney made the announcement describing the program in broad terms, but hasn't really elaborated on it. From my reading, it sounds like something you buy per guest per day ($10 per person per day, introductory price). Whether it'll be worth the price or not depends on a number of things (e.g., how many passes are allocated to the MaxPass system versus the paper FP system, how busy the parks are when you go, etc.). I haven't gotten the sense that it'll be like WDW's MDE where you can select your FP time and you cannot pre-book any FPs. In terms of April...when are you going? Easter is late this year (April 16), so the first half of April is likely to be very busy (based on the AP blockout calendar).

3. Historically, the WoC dessert party is offered nightly.

Thanks so much.

Glad the cross-walk is still open. I can imagine those hotels are pretty hot about the changes. I wasn't sure how much was started yet. Sounds like we'll be good to go then.

So the MaxPass isn't running yet? Ya, when I read about it I thought it was starting in January. Well, much is unknown then. I wouldn't mind trying it for a day or two. But can't imagine needing it much. We will be in the parks April 5-9. So gone by Easter.

I'm really looking forward to the dessert party for WOC. Just sitting for the show will be worth it! I'm gonna miss not seeing Fantasmic! this trip. But, I'm really excited to see the Main Street Electrical Parade on Main Street again! It is the main thing I remember about Disneyland vividly from my first trip as a kid.
