April or May for Disneyland?

We just got back from DL in September (our fave time to go since the crowds are low and so are the prices for off season).

We're considering another trip around our kids birthdays. Austin will be 6 April 27, Hunter will be 4 on May 9 and Kiara 2 on May 11 - so anytime around those 2 weeks to have their actual birthday IN park would be cool. If not, no biggie.

Anyone know what the local school schedule looks like late April/early May? I don't want a ton of crowds although I know there will be more than when we typically go.

Also, is that considered peak/moderate or off season?

Is there a best time frame for us to go? I'm guessing weather will be relatively similar throughout April & May?

Are you AP hodlers or will you be needing tickets?

I ask because of the promo DLR is running through April 24. After that, there won't be a deal on hoppers.

I think crowds will be fine late April/early May. Spring Breaks will be over and most schools will be in session during the week.

Definitely late April or even the first week or two of May. Once Spring Break is over, the crowds will die down considerably. Even if you can't take advantage of the hopper deal as Danger pointed out, the lesser crowds will make up for it, IMO.

I think this time frame is considered moderate.

We'll be there April 6-9. We gonna hit spring break? Not that we can do anything about it. We'll be there during our older daughter's spring break.

Yes, that's peak Spring Break. The DLR hours reflect that they are expecting very large crowds.

Thanks everyone.

We're not AP holders ( I knew we should've bought them back in September...).

I've been looking at either the Alaska kids fly free deal (which doesn't seem to be cheaper than us driving and staying in a hotel on the way down & up), Costco.com package, Get Away Today or AAA (we've always booked through AAA before since it's been cheapest).

We always stay at the DLH, but might go Paradise Pier if we do the 5 day tickets for the cost of 3 so we can stay extra days. We usually only spend 4 days in parks.

We went last year around Cinco de Mayo to Mother's Day and the food and wine festival was going on - Yummy! We had about 3 very very hot days (high 90's) - but I actually kinda liked the change from rainy so it was all good.

I think you have to use your 5 for 3 day passes by May 7 so your timing would work. You could always upgrade to AP's as long as you did it by May 7. The lines were a breeze, we rode Space Mountain a gazillion times. So much fun! Our Spring Break (in western WA) is April 7 - 11.
