So, I have only gone to WDW in April. That's when we went growing up and it is what I have continued as an adult. Next April 2015 we are going to check out DL!! So excited! However, I am already thinking ahead to our next WDW trip, which won't be until 2016. I am either going to do April 2016 (during our school April vacation as usual) or December 2016. If we go over April vacation then we can go for more days b/c school is out. If we go in December I would probably go the second week in December Thurs-Sun. (DH is a teacher and so he can't really miss more than two days of school in a row. I don't think I would want to do the December school vacation due to xmas week crowds.) The draw for December is that we would have a chance to see all the holiday decorations, but the trip would be shorter. Opinions please!!!

We did Disney last year in December (5-9) and loved it. It was an adults only trip and I was pregnant so we did skip some of the more popular rides. That being said we didn't wait to long for anything, and were able to get reservations at all the restaurants we wanted to check out. I was even able to move some reservations around a few days before including getting in to flying fish. The decorations IMO are totally worth it, plus some of the holiday programs are so nice (candle light processional). Weather was perfect but sometimes can be cold, one year it was highs of 50 (cold for Florida!)

For full disclosure I have never been in the spring, I have always gone October-February, I am going in May for the first time this year, so maybe I will end up liking the spring too!

I wouldn't do December if DH can't miss school....there could be New England weather that delays/cancels flights. April is also quite busy, especially crazy the week before and after Easter. If you have small children in strollers, I would wait until June!!

Last year we went in April and this year May...it was way too hot, we'll never do that again! So my vote would be December. :)

** uh oh ** I just booked early May and hate the heat. We did Memorial Weekend one year and it was brutal but thought early May would be nice...
I must have been mistaken

We have our next trip booked for the end of April into the first week of May. We went two years ago around the same time and loved it. Definitely wasn't too hot then. Guess we'll see this bout!

Ehhh...we did mid/late nov and late March the two times we went, and I'd rather go back in March. Christmas decorations were up and holiday music was piped in the speakers in the main parts of the parks in Nov, and it was just weird. We left 30 degree weather and snow in Chicago and got 65-75 and sunny with one morning of driving rain in Disney with odd reminders that it was almost Christmas every now and then when we would walk into certain parts of the parks. it was just weird and didn't add to the trip at all. Maybe if we went later in December it might have felt more like Christmas, but honestly I didn't really want any reminder that I had a whole winter to get through once vacation was over.

March was awesome. I think April would be even better. Still cold in Illinois, but the warm sunny weather in Florida reminded me that spring was on it's way!!!!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone!
We generally find the mid-April weather to be nice - warm enough for the kids to swim, but not unbearably hot in the parks. As much as I want to see Disney with the holiday decorations, part of me thinks that waiting an extra 7 months for a shorter trip there would be hard! Who knows, maybe I can finagle a way to do both (highly doubtful, lol).
