Rules are simple- track your spending the way you want to. For example, some of us don't track bills or gas. Set a goal if you want to. Good luck!!

I don't count gas or bills. But I am tracking my random spending(I want 20 no spend days) and the goal is $400 in groceries for my family of 6. And zero eating out. It will take maneuvering and eating from the existing pantry but I need the wiggle room for out June 1 vacation.

1-$192 groceries

Yay, I'm in! I am going to try for 10 no buy days. I want to save up for a June 2015 road trip, a last hurrah before we start paying private school tuition X2! :scared1:

April 1 - $0

I am in for April. Today was a spendy day. Our microwave died plus we are slowly redoing our bathroom so I grabbed a bunch of accessories for it.

4/1- $44.36 Dinner out, $156.48 Walmart, & $30.90 Trader Joes

Hi all! I'm new to to this but I'm doing 31 days of living better, spending less. So my goal is have zero spending, outside of what I have budgeted this month (I have a baby shower and kids birthday party to buy a gift for that I wrote into my budget, for example). I am not tracking bills or gas but have budgeted for them and 500 for my family of four for groceries. :)

I was all set to join in, and then we had a vet emergency yesterday. (So does that disqualify me right off the bat ?) Our basset had a tooth issue, so the vet bill was $128 and then next week she goes for teeth cleaning (to help w/ the issue) and that's going to be $ 350. It truly could have been an April fool's joke, only it wasn't.

but outside of that, I'm trying to not spend anything outside the norm. We've got $125 budgeted per week on food.... last week I went under by $40. (go me!) We're making all our lunches at home, we're doing "eat out of the freezer" to help with not spending the budgeted amount. My goal is NO frivilous spending... only emergency and what's budgeted.

I'm trying to save some cash aside from food shopping (budgeted cash) and whatever else I can keep under budget because we're going to Washington, DC the last week of the month. Every little bit will help, so if I have that cash, we can use that on our trip towards food / whatever. :thumbsup2

I worked extra today and made money rather than spend it. I did get pizza for dinner but used a giftcard to cover it.

4/1- $44.36 Dinner out, $156.48 Walmart, & $30.90 Trader Joes
4/2- $0

I'm in for April! Need to put some money aside before the school year pay checks end for the season!

I will not be counting groceries or gas. I am as conservative there as I feel I can be. Plus our grocery bills are high because we almost NEVER eat out or get take-out and we eat a lot of (expensive :( ) produce.

I will be counting the "little here, little there" that seems to trickle away.... plus my thrift store spending and other such things.

April 1 - Nothing spent except gas.

April 2 - Nothing spent (by me....the men had to pay to park at an event).

April 3 - Nothing spent except a few groceries that DH will be picking up tonight.

......................P

Darn! April 2 was SUPPOSED to be a no buy day. We didn't get paid until April 3, so I was trying to wait. At dinnertime, I had to make both kids leave the table and get their beverages. I TOLD DS 10 to "not drink milk because there is only a little left for breakfast. Please get juice or water" And… he comes back to the table with a full glass of milk. Yeah, selective hearing has started already. :sad2: Off to the grocery store for a gallon of milk. I have lots of grocery shopping and a Sam's Club run to make this weekend, so there won't be any no buy days until next week.

April 1 - $0
April 2 - groceries
April 3 - groceries and prescriptions and dinner

I have to do this. I'd be thrilled if I could just stick to my budget without spending extra. I budget for everything bills, gas, groceries, entertainment etc yet I always go over. Weekends are the worst, once Monday comes we spend very little

UGH, just finished paying the bills. Money is going to be tight this paycheck. So I see lots of no buy days in my future. The only thing I am committed to spending is iron on transfers for the drama troupe. I'm making T-shirts for the kids.

Thursday I did some shopping at Target. I always send Easter baskets to my younger cousins and scored some great deals. Plus I got some items for myself.

Friday was a no buy day as my uncle treated us to the fish fry we went to.

Today I did my grocery shopping and got gas.

Tomorrow and Monday should be no buy days

4/1- $44.36 Dinner out, $156.48 Walmart, & $30.90 Trader Joes
4/2- $0
4/3 - $7.80 chick fil a and $129.43 Target
4/4 - $0
4/5 - $84.01 Giant Eagle and $29.20 Get go gas

I'll be rooting for you to meet your grocery budget! You must be having breakfast for dinners for that $400 to work?

Weekends are the worst for me too with eating out although we have been eating at home more lately
. The eat at home thread helps.
