April/May 2006 Code Watch

Where are you staying, those are the exact dates we will be at WDW too? I thought that I read on here that the last time they had the Disney Visa code they were allowing everyone to use it even if you didn't have a Disney Visa, but I could be wrong. Linda

Where we are staying is up in the air at the moment. I called to book CSR with AAA rates and they had nothing but king rooms...now looking at other places.

Is it true that even though you have an AP you still have to call a Dis rep on the phone to get a quote on a room? We just purchased one from a rep over the phone and they said we would have it within a week, (the voucher), as we are going May also...I would like to book a resort. ALSO!!!! Not sure which one to book... we have stayed at the POP, loved it HOWEVER we had to do A LOT of walking, to the bus stops FROM all the parks , the hotel bus stop was great! And we stayed in the 70's building right beside goofy's splash pad. We will visit there twice a year now, don't want to stay at the same resort every time, BUT need to book two rooms b/c there are 6 of us (we have FOUR kids) OR stay at WL Deluxe Room, or mod (2 rooms w/discount, we had POR booked tentatively)....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Want to keep it within a reasonable price...no more than @ 200/night! Is that fair? I don't know what to expect as far as AP codes and discounts go....I would stay at the POP again, but I don't think any of the other value resorts....I know this sounds snobbish, but I would look at them if I had more insight.....Our kids are little still too (8,8,6,5) soooo they still don't take up a lot of room!

Regarding the parkhopper upgrade, I just spoke with a Disney CM who told me the discount would be available to the general public within the next several days. Yay!

Is this code (#519653) only if you use Disney Visa??? I booked our trip last week with a regular credit card (only paid deposit), will they adjust the package to include this deal?? I already chose Park Hopper, but I wondering if they will credit me back that extra amount I paid. Sorry, but I'm new!! :confused3
Is it more than 45 days til your trip? If so, you can cancel the ressie without a penalty and re-do it. Read my post above about the code being offered to non-Disney VISA card holders.

That must be that deal that was posted from the online travel agent web site. It begins Feb. 23rd. So, does one just buy the basic non-parkhopper tickets and then get free upgrade including the water parks?

Rack price from Disney for the base ticket (not including tax/shipping) for a 7 day base pass is $738. Add the park hopper option and the price is $874. Add the waterpark option and the price is $1038.

So, what is the free upgrade? Is it an upgrade from the base ticket to the parkhopper? Or from the base ticket to the parkhopper w/ water parks? Or, is it from the 4 parks park hopper adding the water parks for free?

I'm tryting to figure out if it's worth it to take that deal and give up the AAA discount on the room. Or, could one book the room separately with AAA and then buy the tickets off of the web site? Can someone with a Disney Visa that could check the rules and post what the actual upgrade is?? We already have an AAA pkg. ressie during this travel window. Thx.

Yes Cindy, we are not going until May. Do you think they would just adjust my current reservation???

All,

Just got off the phone with WDTC. I had a ressie that I used my Disney Visa for the $200 deposit. This was a package ressie that had 6d premium tickets, that I paid in full on 12/31/05. I used the Chase code that was out today for the park hoppers and the plus pack. CM stated that my Visa will be credited $279.10. DH says he'll belive it when the $$ actually posts to the card, so we'll see.

Thanks especially to dcibrando, who was the 1st poster I read about this deal.

Hope this helps others!

Thank you for the chase link. It's driving me crazy though, because it seems to be asking me to sign up for electronic statements instead of paper ones, and all I want is to be able to get to the old view statements and discounts page. :(
There is a pull down screen somewhere on there that says "see current offers". I don't like their site. It's very confusing.

So, you could assume that the resort availability will be the same or decrease on Thursday?

I would think that they would release another block of rooms, but who knows.
Sometimes some resorts don't have any rooms for AP rates. For example, I know AKL standard views with AP Rates go fast.

Gillian,
I know! I ended up calling the 800 number listed in the agreement section to get my paper statements back - just so I could view the website. Frustrating to say the least!

I think I will book tomorrow whether there is a code or not. :confused3 I read on another thread that some rooms aren't available in May! :( GREAT! :worried:

Our room is not available at AKL in June through online booking.

This is why I went ahead and booked for our short June trip. If I can apply a future AP rate, great. If not, at least I'm staying at the resort of my choice. It seems Disney travel is up, up, up! It makes it harder to get the rooms you want, let alone a discount.

I hope you have good luck tomoorow! :sunny:

I also went ahead and booked today with a DVC member cash discount. The studio is $259 a night and I'm not sure if AP even discounts DVC resorts and we definitely want to be in the boardwalk area. I guess I could always change reservations if a good AP rate came out for something over there. I'm just happy I got a room in the area we want to be in. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though still for those AP room rates. Good luck everybody.
