April Exercise Thread--Spring is here! No excuses to not get moving. :)

Struggling big time this month. I almost didn't post at all, but I figure that every minute helps towards the group tally for the month.

I think it's been a combination of being busy. I work at a college and the last few weeks of the Spring semester is one of the busiest times of the academic year in my office.

if I'm being honest, I think I've also been fighting some self-esteem issues. When I get down on myself, I'm really good at having negative thoughts but not so good at doing something positive to combat the negativity.

I have this same issue! I am up 25 pounds up from my low in 2011 and instead of getting on plan, I just keep stress eating. My exercise this month has been bleh at best. I have those 'you are a failure' thoughts floating in my brain.

Sending you a big hug.:grouphug: I know we are more than our weight, accomplishments, etc, but I want to be the thin, healthy active person that I picture myself being.

April tally - 2037/2000

Adding 53 minutes - P90X Chest & Back - Can't believe that I made my goal this much with 17 days on the road. May looks to be nearly as bad with 11 days of travel already booked. So busy at work - finding time to exercise is so hard right now.
 
Oh, boy!! I had to search out my last post. Going away for several days can certainly throw your weightloss routine into a tizzy!!
I did workout, though not nearly as much as usual!! Let's see if I can remember what I did.

4/18 - 32 min on some hybrid elliptical at my hotel :)
4/19 - 60 min walking
4/22 - 30 min circuit/15 arc
4/23 - 90 min dance
4/25 - 30 min circuit
4/28 - 30 min circuit, 15 min arc
4/29 - 47 min arc, 18 min elliptical
4/30 - 50 min weight training, 25 min arc (just figure I will log now and finish off my month!)

YIKES! Way off my 1900. UGH!! But happy that I didn't gain weight while being away and still squeezed in some exercise, and watched my eating.

Going to be in for 1900 again in May, try, try again! :thumbsup2
 

Another 5 miles today!

Try not to be down, everyone! I bet you're both still thinner than me. I decided I'm going to lose an additional 15lbs (I'm already down 12lbs since March 1). I'll still be in the overweight bmi category--by 1 point, lol--but if I go much lower, I don't think I can maintain. I'm just not a tiny person and carry weight everywhere.

When I did Weight Watchers 10 years ago, I was 190--no one believed it because my arms, thighs, etc hold weight. I got down to 153 for a nano second, but then had three kids. I'm hoping to get to 160 (a total loss of 25) and stay there. The exercise and eating better is definitely helping. I'm trying to stay positive bc I know I can do it since I've done it before.

I've been bad at reporting in this month! Checked my book, I've done 1930 minutes this month. I'll report in better next month! Epic fail for april!
 
Catch up from last two days, Monday 40 minute maintenance run plus 24 min strength training/cardio and today, Tues, 25 min dog walk.

I don't think I will make 900 tomorrow because I have class, but pretty close! Setting a little higher for May as I am done with school as of this Friday. :cool1:

Congrats to everyone who made their goal or participated in this thread this month - it helped me a lot! Also special thanks to our lovely hostess, who did a GREAT!!! job.

I saw a neat quote the other day: Comparison is the Thief of Joy. So I'm going to try to keep that front and center and focus on where I'm going and not worry so much about where others are in their journeys...

Thanks and thank you also, Rose. There are a bunch of external factors that I can "blame" for my lack of exercise this month, but I know that it all starts with me. I saw a quote that says something like - "If you hate starting over, than stop giving up."

Yesterday, I had a great lunch break trail run - slow time for the distance - but I'm (re)building my foundation and I've got to start somewhere for the season.

I am going to fall short this month, but I did go at least a mile a day, so that is 16 months with at least a mile a day! (Though I still have to go at least a mile today.)

I am hoping at the end of the year, that despite this short month, I still average 2014 minutes per month. :)
