I know it's a much discussed subject... but since we usually go in the fall (not an option this year) we were thinking about going the week after Easter (4/17/06-4/23/06)... Will the crowds be unbearable??? Weather???
Thanks!
Christine

We've been in early April. This was in 2002 and it was very hot. Most days were in the upper 80's-low 90's. As for the crowds it was the week after Easter as well and we found that everyday the crowds got better and better. However, it was still our busiest trip ever as far as crowd levels go.

It will most definitely be crowded...we're always limited to Easter break due to DH's teaching schedule.

It's crowded, but doable. Use your fast passes, and get to the parks at opening, and you should do fine....we did it this past year and had a great time.

The weather should be pretty warm...but not oppressive like the summer months!!

Have fun!!

Here's some of the things I'd look at to assess that time:
- Review Spring Breaks times for 2006 - we find those affect crowds.
- See when Disney's "Flower Power" starts - a spike at Epcot and you might yourself enjoy incorporating some of those unique "to dos" into your itinerary.
- Watch Disney operating hours and their firework times: If you have longer hours and fireworks nightly at MK and 2 Fntsmcs at MGM - then I'd say their expecting big crowds, if you see shorter operating hours and less fireworks at MK and MGM, that usually indicates an expectation of "lesser" crowds (which then Disney proceeds to imagineer them into the parks you decide to go to that day. LOL). :rotfl2:
Some additional good things about going at that time of year:
1. Yes, weather is warming up - not the heat of July/Aug but you'll feel the difference coming from a "winter" zone. Incorporate fun time at the pool.
2. If it's the Flower Power they'll have 60s live bands at the American Pavilion at Epcot - there'll be short seminars, and other interesting "to dos" you get to add to your trip.
3. Ah yes, and the flowers!!! Be sure to walk that rose path near Imagination - the scent is wonderful.
4. Also, at this time of year it's fun going to TL and BB - esp. if FL kids are back in school the week following (you might want to check FL kids' vacation times then - otherwise those water parks might be esp. busy).
Have fun planning your Spring Vaca.

Thanks all for your input... I think we are going to do it! I'm figuring since it's not our first time, if we miss out on a few things because of crowds it's no huge deal!

We were there that week this year, along w/the rest of the Northeast. Although Easter had fallen in March--it was still pretty busy. We did get up early and got to the parks by opening and used fastpass alot. We saw everything on our list of must sees. The weather was low 70's at the beginning of the week to around 80 by the time we left. Great weather for the parks!!! Made the crowds much more manageable. Make any priority seatings for restaurants you really want to eat at or you may not get in. We went w/family members who wanted to "go w/the flow" and we ended up eating at counter service places quite a few times when we didn't want to  . Next year we go in May--just the three of us!! ;) BTW, schools around here are on spring break that week again. Happy planning and have a great vacation!!!! :sunny:
