April Crowds - 2007?

We normally go to WDW the first week in March (2/28-3/7 this year) and have found this to be a great time -- far enough after President's Day and early enough to be before the heavy spring break crowds. We're thinking about our 2007 trip.

In 2007, we will not be able to go in early March so in 2007 we are looking at April 17th - 24th or April 24th - May 1st. Easter falls on April 8th in 2007 so I suspect parks will be extremely crowded the week before or after Easter (weeks of 4/1 and/or 4/9). How bad or crowds in April if it's far enough after Easter?

Also, how do you think the crowds the last two weeks of April compare to the first week of March?

Any thoughts, advice or input from past experiences would be appreciated. :)

We went April 2-7 this year, which was not the week before or after Easter. It was the most crowded I have ever seen DW. We were able to do most everything we wanted, but it took planning and strategy. We stayed at BWV, and the whole Board Walk area seemed crowded during that week. I went back the 2nd week in June, and the Board Walk area seemed deserted in comparison. We have always gone in the fall in previous years, and plan on continuing with the fall trips, no more April trips for us.

the third week of April will be spring break for many schools in the new england area. It will be very crowded with people from here. It was just as crowded this past April when our break lined up with Easter as it was in 2004 when it did not line up with easter. One thing is that after Easter the parks start to close earlier, so your touring times are not as great as they may be earlier. But one good thing is that it will not be peak season for rates at the hotels, so it is cheaper. You can have a wonderful time, but will need to plan. One thing is that the weather is wonderful in mid April, not yet real hot, but probably warmer than in March

we have actually booked those dates, 17april-1st may
hope it's not tooooo busy.
Not my first choice but we are limited with dates

i suppose there wil be crowds and queues most of the time, but i don't really mind it a little busy as i think it adds to the atmosphere.
i would hate for the parks to be almost empty, as long as we enjoy ourselves i don't mind :thumbsup2

The later in April you can go the better. If you can overlap into early May it's even better.

I am going April 28th - May5th, I too looked at the touring plans and most days are 6, so I am hoping it is not bad.

Hi
where are you able to look at the tourist plans

thanks

we are thinking about the same time frames........we went late April last year, and it was EXCELLENT, but I'm not sure if I can wait until late April again this year (since I had to cancel our Oct '06 mini-trip this year).

I'm really starting to lean towards early March, but I need a little more feedback on weather (a BIG one for us), and crowds....

If you like crowds, lots of them, April is for you. :)

Seriously, pretty much every week in April is consumed with the Spring Vacation population across the country. However, I would still choose April over mid summer months because of the nice weather. The year we went over Easter in 96, the weather was wonderful and made the lines much more manageable.

Have a wonderful trip. :sunny:

We have gone at the end of April (the last week) for the past few years. For the most part crowds are reasonably light that week. Most of the New England schools have the prior week off which certainly helps. We've followed the recommended days from the Unofficial Guide and been able to do everything we wanted with waits no longer than 20 minutes - often much less! It is a great time to go. Weather is in the 80's with no humidity.

Happy planning!
