We are going to WDW on April 5 - 12. I am getting conflicting information in regards to the crowd size. One website says the crowds will be low during this time but will pick up the following week due to spring break, but other sites states that the week that we are going will be busy as well. Does anyone know about what should we expect crowd wise when we go?

I would expect at least moderate crowds i.e. waits for top attractions to be 1 hour at/by noon and remaining such until just before close. If you want to eat TS, I would definitely make ADRs. You probably know this, but you will be going during spring break season.

Thank you for the reply. Yes we knew it was the time during spring break but we thought we dodged a bullet with the week that we chose. I'll just take it for what it is and enjoy our time being there. We haven't been since 06.

I would also say the week before Easter you are avoiding which is great, with the snow in the East coast this year many spring breaks are being reduced I am sure, I would still expect moderate crowds, make use of FP plus and rope drop and evening EMH and I think you will be good. It's a toss up but it should be lower then Easter week. I just checked easywdw and crowd calendar is at a 6 that is moderate and not bad at all. I go in August the third week and that's what we usually encounter. You should be pretty good. I would say AK was usually empty for us and the other parks were manageable we did have to use FP for the headliners but it really wasn't that bad, nothing like the following week which will be a 9. Good luck! With all this bad weather here I am tempted to go now at that time!!!!!!!

Thank you very much for your input. It will be our kids first time at WDW so we just wanted to make sure that we get the most out of it. We figured that we would wake up early enough to be at the parks at rope drop then get the big rides out of the way then go from there.

Great plan! you can always take a break midday and I have found sometimes about dinner time is a good time to go back to the parks and sometimes crowds fizzle out depending on the crowds and day. It wont be empty but manageable. Rope drop you truly can get the headliners done. Easywdw.com is a great resource has great cheat sheets and recommended parks. It's quality over quantity you can't see everything but it's good to have some guide or plan it does help with seeing more attractions. Have a great trip!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you! I just went to that easywdw.com website and printed out the April 2014 calendar so we will know which parks to visit that day and which ones to avoid.

We are also going that week and we haven't been to WDW since 2004. I printed the easywdw calendar. Just my husband and I, we're empty nesters going on our first trip without the kids! We'll be there for rope drop and make the best of the early morning. I think we'll do fine managing the crowds.

Sweet! I see that you last stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort, is that where you guys are staying at on your trip? That is where we booked our hotel stay.
