I've been searching daily for the last week for car rentals for April (Easter week; I'm a teacher, so I can only travel during summers and school breaks). The rates seem to be extremely high (I'm only paying $200 for the week between Christmas and New Years, and Easter week is nearly double that). Is it too early to look for car rental rates? Somebody please tell me that these rates will drop!

As an aside, I've only been looking at Alamo and National (I'm a member of both QS and EA), mid-sized SUV. Any help?

Wondering about prices too! Seem to be pretty high. Lowest I have found is 205 for a full size at thrifty. I think I'd rather have something in the airport.

Yeah I think it's too early, codes and coupons valid in 2007 mostly aren't around yet. I'd book the lowest you can find just to lock something in, then start checking back in January....re-checking every couple of weeks until you find a deal. Then just cancel your higher rate reservation that you make now.

I got a full size for my family for $200 for 9 days and a minivan $338 for the other family travelling with us. I got it through Dolalr and am veryy happy with that price. I went through www.vacationoutlet.com

Yeah! Definitely try dollarcar.com with the KISS2 promotion code. You might find something better later but these prices look good for now.

If you don't see where to enter the promo code on dollar, enter your dates then click go, a price will come up. Then hit "specials" at the top and a new area to enter your promo number should now show up.

Thanks so much for this tip. The KISS code really saved money!
