April 7 2013 Dream Cruise

I am taking my daughter on the Disney Dream Cruise on April 7 2013 for her 9th birthday. I am a single mom and it will just be her and I. I was hoping that there would be other single moms or dads on the cruise to talk to and make friends with. Also, since my daughter is an only child I was hoping that there would be other children her age she could make friends with and do different activities with. Any suggestions?

My daughter is 13...( she looks 20 ...but is a regular 13 year old) She loves Everyone, and gets alng great with younger kids, madison is the baby of 4, and I have a feeling her 16 year old brother is gonna ditch her lol. I am sure they can hang out

Just finishing our packing. We are flying to Florida tomorrow bright and early! I'm sure I won't sleep much tonight. We will spend a couple of days at Disney and then go to Cape Canaveral. My daughter prayed that no one gets sea sick at dinner today. We are all first time cruisers and quite anxious. Can't wait to see you all!

My daughter prayed that no one gets sea sick at dinner today. We are all first time cruisers and quite anxious. Can't wait to see you all!

We will be in the parks on Friday, maybe we will run into you all!
And if you are worried about getting sea sick (most people don't. It is a HUGE ship) go to your local drug store and get some sea sickness bands. My mom wears them occasionally and they do wonders for her. They have a little white nub on them that hits a pressure point on your wrist to help sway the nausea.

The Disney Parks blog said the living Cap't Hook was making an appearance at EPCOT on Fri. How many of us are going? Should we just plan a pre-cruise meet and greet? Maybe get one of the super yummy Seista Key spiced rum Dole Whips to get us into cruising mode?

We got all our FE's in one suitcase! Don't know when we'll pack? Tomorrow is Epcot Flower & Garden, Friday is Pontastic's sale on Koi and the Turtles concert at Epcot, Saturday is Kool & the Gang at Universal!!! Glad we got the yard finished today. We need this cruise to relax...LOL

We had been thinking about going to either a Disney water park or to universal on Saturday. Now knowing that Kool and the Gang are going to be at universal our mind has been made up! Thanks for posting this because we had NO clue they were going to be there this weekend. We are all way excited! I tried getting tickets to go see them a while back when they were in Atlanta but tickets were like $75. Roller coasters and Kool and the gang, way cool!

I was the one who suggested it and no one else has offered anything so I guess I'll take point on it.

Dole Whips in EPCOT at 2pm. When entering the WS area take a right; the kiosk is on the right before you get to the DVC booth or Canada.

The weather forcast calls for rain early and but only overcast later in the day. I would tell everyone to look for my purple hand bag but I won't take it out if the weather is going to be iffy..... DH will be wearing his camo Navy Vet hat and I'm not sure what I'll have on; I'll post that in the morning before we go.

Our gifts will have our name on them. I don't know what others are doing, but I think it would be fun to know! We won't be getting into Orlando until Saturday evening. We will be hitting Disney World on Friday after our cruise. Doesn't seem possible it is so close to leaving....
