Us Brits got our travel docs today.
DH is now worrying what to take.
He wants to pack DJ but does he need another jacket or can he just have shirt and tie with nice trousers?
What are your DH's taking?
If he takes too much there won't be enough room for all the girlie stuff we need!!!!!
Do you need anything smart in Vegas or can you wear shorts into casinos?
Thanks in advance for answering all my questions.

YEAH - sounds like we are ALL set with docs etc., now the packing really begins!! The casinos in LV are cool with shorts...however if you go to one of the nicer restaurants for dinner - you may want slacks / dress...your DH should be okay with shirt/tie trousers on board...altho most (not all) men will have 1 suit jacket for 'formal' night....hope that helps~

Ok, probably silly questions, but making sure I'm right ...

#1 Do we check the box that says arriving by ship?

#2 Date of arrival - that is the date we are at Castaway Cay?

#3 Do we fill out anything in the box under section 2?

#4 Do I sign my DD's?

I know it's not as complicated as I'm making it, just don't want to mess it up!

where are these questions? Somewhere within the docs you got today???

You're not intruding at all...and i'd be happy to get that for you~

Thanks a million!!!

Another tidbit of information. I'm really picky about my shampoo/conditioner. I didn't even try the H20+ products that were provided. DUMB ME! I used them once we got home and I LOVE THEM. Stash your containers everyday. They are really good!!! I just ordered some for me now. I wish I had gotten some/stashed lots on the cruise.

For cmsynder and others filling out their Bahamas forms:

#1 - Yes, check arriving by ship.

#2 - Date of arrival - put the day you are going to Castaway Cay. -- Number of nights - 0

#3 - What are the questions in section 2 -- if it is about your agent -- put Disney Cruise Lines and Celebration for the city or dreamsunlimitedtravel.com if DU is who your agent is. If it is your departure city -- PtCanaveral - no space.

#4 - For minors, parents sign their form.

There is a box to check if you don't want to receive "stuff/spam/etc" from the Bahamas. Its near the signature line if I'm remembering correctly.

Anything else I can help you guys out with?

Another tidbit -- pack before dinner and return to set your luggage out on Friday night. Then head over to Diversions way advance of the 10:45 Farewell show they do. Its a hoot!!!

During the week - go to Diversions with the kids before dinner. Go play the games -- Wheel (Wheel of Fortune). You can win medals, travel coffee mugs, etc. Paul, the PubMaster is GREAT. Go try to "ring the bull" too. There are always nachos and chicken wings before dinner there (I think hot dogs too).

PhotoLisa answered my questions ... thanks!

The questions were just about the Bahamas forms.

Lisa~
Thanks for the heads up on the haircare products & other tidbits....i'll have my laptop with me so may be able to post those recipes sooner than you think~
:-)

I wish I was going with you guys! Ten months is way too long to wait to be back on the ship.

I'm looking forward to the recipes! Drink one for me!

oh my gosh Lisa i was just reading your signature of all your trips...that is SOOO AWESOME!!! We've planned ours for every two years - with the 2011 being one of the first trips on the new ship (HOPING :wizard: HOPING:wizard: )!! Will definitely have a drink for ya!!!

Of all those trips, I have to say that doing a back to back was the ULTIMATE! The crew knows you -- everyone in the dining room, the cruise staff, the Cruise Director (Christiian for us), Palo employees. It makes your trip feel like you are "one of the family" even moreso than doing a single trip.

Don't get me wrong . . . I love our fall trips to the mountains each October but cruising truly is the best vacation.

Lisa,

Thanks for all the tips. Maybe we'll get to try some at the tastings they have.

Brenda

Did you get your docs?

Dramaqueenuk,
Hope your flight goes well. Enjoy Vegas.

Have a great night everyone. I leave tomorrow for a trip.:guilty:

Hey where is the 10 day countdown ticker? It's getting

oh i can imagine how that back to back MUST have been....i really want to do the panama repo cruise...but the dates just don't work with DS school...so maybe someday when he's out of HS we can do that...the med cruise would have been ultimate too...but again...the timing isn't the best (i rarely get to take summer vacations) :-(

Well if all went well my docs should be in my mailbox by the time i get home this afternoon.....one week from now and we're in the air getting close to FL....   :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes i did that last cruise for nieces/nephews & friends' kids....they LOVED them. I got fabric markers from michaels, turned them into Guest Svcs on Sunday i think...and they "magically" appeared in our stateroom Friday - signed by every character on both sides of the pillowcases - needless to say they were a HUGE hit with all!!! I got pastel markers cause they were for girls...but if you haven't bought them yet...I'd get the primary "Disney" colors...orange, red, blue, black, yellow - if i could do it over.....

I will have to head to Michaels. I think the primary would be great!:)

Yep, I have one of them, too! I used that for last years cruise. It was our first cruise and I went a little crazy with the pictures. Going to try digital this year as well as film.:confused3

Has anyone done the Alphabet themed pictures for your album using Disney pictues? Ex. A-Animator's C-Cinderella,etc.?

Jen
Jen that sounds like a neat idea. DCL from A-Z and everything in between!:)
Hey everyone!

I don't want to intrude on your meets thread but I was wondering if someone could stop by the Cove Cafe and get their Banana Creme Pie Martini recipe?

We did a back to back cruise (2/17 and 2/24) and regret that I didn't get the recipe from Danielo while I was there.

There is also another one on their menu - hazelnut something. That one is awesome too!

My navigators are posted at http://wdwinfo.com and http://castawayclub.com.

We stayed in Cozumel until 1 AM!

Also -- in Grand Cayman, there is a Margaritaville not far from the tender dock. It is FAR superior to Carlos n Charlies and Senor Frogs in Cozumel. They even have a pool for the kiddos!!

I would truly appreciate the recipe if anyone can get it and post it!

For those of you that were discussing pillowcase signatures . . . the yellow markers really don't show up well. I wish I would have left that color out of my pack.
That banana creme martini sounds wonderful, I may have to try one or two!
I love to hang out in the Cove. Thanks for tip about the yellow pen:)

Banana Creme Pie Martini - WOW - That's sounds delicious! I will have to find one of those. Once again, I've lost my ability to concentrate on work.

No docs, no passport, and my homebound flight times have changed so much that we miss the connection by over an hour. So, I think I'll just concentrate on the Banana Creme Pie martini. Called Disney, they said boarding without the docs is no big deal, but they are in route. Plan to get a new birth certificate tomorrow in case the passport doesn't arrive. And the airline was supposed to call me back today by 11:00am to resolve the scheduling prob. At this point getting home isn't my biggest concern anyway.

DDs and I made a door sign last weekend. It's our first one, so don't expect too much. I didn't include any names/pictures even though the girls wanted me to. With two dds I'm always worried about weirdos. Do most people include names? Can't wait to get on board and meet all of you at the 3:00 meet!

I have our names on some of the door signs I made. I don't think that I put our pics on any of them.:)
Hope you get your scheduling kinks worked out.

I think DH is packing a jacket, but no tux rental this cruise. I think it is really fun to dress up, but I am going to take it easy this cruise.
You can wear shorts in the casinos. You will see some really dressed up folks and really casual ones. I didn't wear any dresses while we were there. I did dress "nice" for the celine show. But I never felt out of place any where that we went. Much like DCL on formal night there are all extremes shorts-tuxes.LOL.:)
Ohhh, I could deal with being stranded on Castaway Cay for a year or so :rotfl2:
Wouldn't that be a dream:)

Calling all of the caribbean cruise veterans! I just went to the DCL site for the online registration and it requires a passport number. As all of you know by now. My passport still hasn't come and probably won't be here in time. I know the Dept of State allows travel with a birth cert until Jan '08, but I'm worried that DCL won't accept it. Any thoughts?

I can just about taste that Banana Creme Pie Martini by now.

When we cruised, my daughter's friend (an almost 17-yr old minor) did not have a passport. For online checkin, I simply put 111111111 for her passport number online, presented her birth certificate and drivers license as her ID at the counter and was asked not a single question. I'd do the same and you should be okay.

One last tip.

If you have NEVER done a Palo brunch before, please do yourself the biggest favor you can do for you while on vacation. Go to Rockin Bar D after you get on the ship and schedule as many brunches as they will allow!!!!

OMG . . . it is to die for! Even if you go to brunch, only sip your glass of champagne, eat one Eggs Benedict (or Julia or Florentine) and get dessert . . . you will LOVE it.

I had never done brunch before our last cruises and I had no idea what I was missing!

Forget that diet you might have been on for six months . . . . you can diet when you get home but you can't get Palo brunch at home!!!

King crab legs already opened for you . . . king crab claws, oysters bienville, caviar, smoked salmon, antipasta, proscuitto wrapped asparagus, proscuitto curled ontop of cantalope, the pastires and breads, stolen bread with whipped creme topped with fresh berries, desserts, desserts and desserts, frittata, a tilapia dish, a chicken dish, 4 or 5 pizzas including one topped with berries . . . the list goes on and on and on . . . . OMG -- just do it!!!

Can I stow away in someone's luggage or carryon?
