April 6th dcl announcement

You're kidding, right? Who would object? If you know something and your "super secret sources" gave you the green light... spill it!! Why drag it out over more than one post... asking if anyone would object.

I think we are dealing with maturity level here or just plain ego ;)

What I know is strictly about an itinerary. Not about ports.

And this itinerary is longer than 7nt cruise . . . it will be a 12nt.

Ok if you know the itinerary you should also know what port it will be going out of based on where it is going. So spill it already

Is the 12 night with the Hawaii sailing that we already know is happening?

Which ship will this be on? The Magic or the Wonder?

Didn;t we already know that the Wonder was going to be in port for a day in May in Hawaii? Is this different??:confused3

I think it means that they have found another port that it will dock at
We knew about Honolulu, this is Hilo on the big Island

And this:

28-Aug Tue PRIDE OF AMERICA 921' 2250/900 0730-1800 NCL-A
4-Sep Tue PRIDE OF AMERICA 921' 2250/900 0730-1800 NCL-A
11-Sep Tue PRIDE OF AMERICA 921' 2250/900 0730-1800 NCL-A
17-Sep Mon DISNEY WONDER 965' 2000/1000 1100-2300 Inch18-Sep Tue PRIDE OF AMERICA 921' 2250/900 0730-1800 NCL-A

Looks like maybe a pair of repo cruises via Hawaii before and after a 2012 summer Alaska season.

OOh Like a tour around Hawaii??? That would be really fun!!! popcorn::

All the conversation I see on this thread is Galveston or NY. It is not different than we saw before, but a reminder and perhaps new to some that were not following threads about this earlier.

Excellent points!

I too don't know why people are so willing to pay such high prices just to cruise on DCL. :confused3 Even if we could afford it, why?

I think a large part of it is that they want Disney first and a cruise second. I know I wouldn't be interested in sailing with another company even if they were $400 cheaper. Maybe once I have been on a few (Ive still only been on the one cruise) and have more vacation time in a year I will feel differently, but right now I wouldn't pay a dime to go on a different one! A large part might also be that people just feel more 'safe' trying something new with Disney!

But maybe you found something that will indicate a Hawaii tour! That would be awesome. I only wish is was during the summer since I won't be able to pull the kids in May and September :headache:

Bringing the game aspect back to this . . . DING DING DING!!!! (sort of)

"Repositioning" out of LA going to both Alaska and then Hawaii in the same cruise . . . everyone happy? I believe he said Wonder, which they are planning to keep permanently on the west coast . . . but that part I may be mistaken.

We pretty much already figured that out from the Hawaii port listing the Wonder there in May and September
We really are trying to find out what the Magic is doing and where she is sailing from / to
Sorry this was a let down if this is your news

I was thinking the same thing, Vancouver to LA via Hawaii. That could be one that I would look into! I would love that! Carnival does a Hawaii cruise out of Vancouver.

I agree that it would be hard for us to do another cruiseline, but if DCL is priced too high, we just go to WDW.

Someone once posted that there are Disney cruisers and there are cruisers. A cruiser will cruise on anyline, but a Disney cruiser only cruises because it's Disney.

However, $400 is not that much of a cost difference. I would not try another line for $400 in savings.

Right now, the same two rooms that we are paying $5,500 for on the Fantasy in 2012 would cost us about $8,500 to book! The Oasis of the Seas is about $7,000, or $1,500 less. The Carnival Dream is about $5,750 or about $2,750 less.

At what incremental cost is Disney priced too high? $400; $1,500; $2,750 or more??

Hawaii and Alaska in one cruise--interesting! A lot of sea time though. I like the idea of a British Isles trip, except that we did the Baltic last June and crossing the North Sea was VERY bumpy; convinced us not to do an around the BI cruise in the future. But then, maybe it just was too early in June and still rough seas at that time of year. Would love to sail around Scotland, dock in Wales and Ireland etc!

Here's something else: if not Eastern Med or other parts of Europe, then where? The Magic could head for Rio and do cruises around the tip of South America, over to Africa perhaps.

Still hoping for Eastern Med, Eygpt or no Eygpt. And I still think an Asian tour is possible (not necessarily to Japan)--but to continue with Disney's ties to China, visiting Hong Kong and its Disneyland, getting the Asian market interested in the Disney cruise line.

that's all I'm saying/guessing/hoping--!!

Wow!! That's it? Anything on the Magic? Thanks for sharing. ;)

So, this is what I've worked it out with only a 12-night itinerary based on what other cruise lines have done:

Day 1: Apr 29--LA
Day 2: Apr 30--At Sea
Day 3: May 1--At Sea
Day 4: May 2--At Sea
Day 5: May 3--At Sea
Day 6: May 4--Hilo, HI
Day 7: May 5--Honolulu
Day 8: May 6--Honolulu
Day 9: May 7--At Sea
Day 10: May 8--At Sea
Day 11: May 9--At Sea
Day 12: May 10--At Sea (or Service Stop at Ensenada)
Day 13: May 11--Seattle (if stopped at Ensenada) OR Vancouver, BC if no stop at Ensenada

Not much of an island hopping as it takes at least 4-5 days at sea to reach Hawaii and back to the mainland.

Any thought?
