April 4, 2014 Wonderful Caribbean Cruise

Hi, I'm joining in, we just booked this morning :thumbsup2

At this beginning of this year we actually booked the 7 night Fantasy cruise but due to finances we had to cancel and didn't think we'd make it to the USA at all next year. But we have got ourselves sorted and have booked our flights and cruise
This thread is a lot smaller then the Fantasy one....I like it!!

This will be our second cruise on the Wonder, we did the Pacific Coast last September.

There will be myself, my dh, dd 15, ds 13, ds 8 & dd 5 all coming along from Australia.

We loved participating in the FE last cruise so I would love to do it again. I'm happy to try and organise it all? I'm certainly no expert but happy to give it a go.

Looking forward to getting to know you all better :)

:welcome: Welcome Aussiemumma, Dh, and 4 kids :welcome:

We are headed to Fiji in November and I am trying to figure out a way to squeeze in Cairns, since I have been to Sydney. If not, it will be 2015 and we will head back to your country. Last summer I loving ditched the kids and toured Fiji, Australia and New Zealand. No chance of that since I got back and they saw the pics. Now they want to go everywhere with me. ;)

So excited to meet all of you :) Feel free to start the FE list and very sweet of you to offer. I have never done the FE and I am not sure I am going to this time either. Julie (11) would love it, so maybe I will try it.

Also, if your kids are inclined, please have them join the kids thread. It is really great when the kids know a little bit about each other before heading out on the cruise.

Husband and I are heading out for our first cruise. So excited to meet some people on here from our ship :)

:welcome:Welcome Toledorocket09 and DH :welcome:

How exciting for this to be your first cruise. I'm so glad you found us. This will be my first time on the Wonder, but my first cruise was with my 8yo late Nov. Since then, I have done a "girl" trip with my then 8 and 10yo. I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did. :goodvibes

Hi AussieMumma! Thanks for volunteering to organize the FE! This is our first Disney cruise and we were really excited to participate. Its just myself and my fiance in our cabin (well husband by then LOL, so excited!) We have other people going with kids but they haven't decided if they are going to join yet.

sweetlovin' We LOVE Fiji, we've been six times and would have loved to try and squeeze in a week there this year but there haven't been any good airfare sales so we'll have to wait a bit longer!

More then happy to do the FE list, I think it's just a matter of compiling a list of everyones cabin number, number of people and whether they are adults, children and male or female.
So when you're ready (certainly no rush) send me a pm with those details and I'll start a list.

Hopefully we'll get a few more people joining us soon!

We did Mana Island a year ago, loved it!! This Thanksgiving we are booked at Blue Lagoon on the Yasawa Island then a few days on the main Island. My kids really want to do the motor sports, but we like the remote islands. Right now, we are trying to decide if we are going to forgo the Blue lagoon to hit Cairns. That way, my kids will have gotten to the Great Barrier Reef and horseback ride through the rainforest. But, airfare is a little crazy from Fiji to Cairns at the moment. So we will see. I'm hoping we can do it, if not, we will be back touring all of Australia and New Zealand 2015.

I just booked a Spain, Portugal, and Morocco trip for next June. I'm too excited as that will be continent number 6!! I'm getting there, although, I would like to do an african safari at some point.

That is a good point. I never met up with anyone on my first two. However, I think the Wonder is a lot smaller and we have more days. Hopefully, it all goes differently this time around :)

I'm so excited!!!!
@ sweetlovin'- your counting down weeks and I have a day countdown on my phone so I can see it everyday! As of right now we we have 230 days! Everyday I see that number get smaller and I feel like jumping around!

I just sent a request to join the FB group :)

How are everyones travel plans coming along?
I haven't even thought about shore excursions yet, has anyone got any ideas yet?

I also wanted to see if anyone can recommend a hotel in Miami for the night before we cruise? Somewhere that hopefully has a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and a shuttle to the port the next day, and will fit the six of us either in one room or connecting rooms?!! Not too many requests really :rolleyes1

I completely understand as I always have to get connecting rooms as well. Julie is all about the shore excursions and has a list going. Sea Lions, dolphins, parasailing are the three must dos for her. (Not sure if Sea Lions is April 4th cruise or April 9th cruise)

I, on the other hand, am glad she is taking charge of deciding because I have too much going to to pay attention. I need to mark the day we are able to book the excursions. That I'm not sure she will be able to do, but hand me the list so I can get them scheduled, that works for me :thumbsup2

I found this on cruise critic

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=689995

Thanks for that. I've posted a message on Trip Advisor also and have gotten a reply already so I shall start my researching!

Ok, thank goodness Julie is on top of this because I thought this cruise went to Castaway Cay :crazy:

This cruise we are going to the Mayan ruins and swim with the dolphins in Grand Cayman.

April 9th we are doing the others

We are doing the cruise on the 9th now also! We weren't sure what we were going to do for the 3 or 4 nights that we had free after the cruise so this works out perfect.
I'm really happy that we'll get to go to Castaway Cay and Key West :cool1:
