118 days until we sail. Anyone thinking about it?
Have to admit I'm pretty wrapped up in the holidays--we leave for WDW in 13 days!!
For those of us who are Castaway Club members--it will be time to book shore excursions, Palo, etc. in less than a month!!

Thanks for pointing out that we'll be on the boat for Easter!!! I'll definitely need to make sure the Bunny knows where to find us. I'm going to ask my travel agent if they do anything special for Easter. I'm sure they have something up their sleeves.

For those of you who are cruising for the first time, let me assure you this will be an absolutely fantastic time AND you'll even get some time alone with your spouse. My two kids (12 and 4) wanted almost NOTHING to do with us last year. The kids' activities are terrific!!! Our daughter (4) only ate two meals with us and didn't even want to hang out with us when we were at Castaway Key. And the kids' clubs are super duper great abour security, so you can feel safe knowing they're safe.

I think the fish extenders are a great idea! We saved our door magnets from last cruise. We'll be adding a fish extender and "sharing the love" with others, this time, too!

'Kids were watching the Travel Channel this week - ran a whole series on Cruisin'!... Including Disney Cruises- although we have seen it before it's always great to see it again and again, especially since we're getting so close now!!

Anyone know who our cruise director will be - We've never sailed on the Wonder before - but we have had Brent Davies and Christian as CDs on the Magic - both were amazing as was the entire Entertainment Crew - oh heck - the entire Ship's Crew!!!

Get ready to 'sail-away' -!!

It looks like we will get a day pass for the Sheraton at Nassau. It will run about $120 for a family of 4.Our kids just want to swim at the beach and play in the water. The Sheration is located at cable beach.

Hi Everyone! Won't be long now!! I got to book Palo and shore excursions today (since we've cruised on Disney before). We didn't get to eat at Palo last cruise so I'm looking forward to that. Not sure about shore excursions. Don't know whether to book something through Disney at Nassau, try something on my own or just make it a "do nothing" day. Sounds like Nassau isn't the greatest place to roam--esp. with kids. I've considered booking at Comfort Suites to go to Atlantis. Hadn't heard of the Sheraton Hotel beach--thanks for the idea 4forMickey. Also considering the Blue Lagoon beach day--we just "swam with the dolphins" this summer at Discovery Cove in Orlando so thankfully I'm not tempted by that idea. Anyone besides 4forMickey made any decisions about Nassau?

The Comfort Inn is running aout $330 for the day,If anyone can tell us how to get it cheaper, I'll book it. I booked Palos for brunch so we can still have dinner with the kids and I booked blackbeard cay stingray and beach tour. I liked the half a day tours so we can still come back to the boat and relax. Now for Castaway Cay I booked the Castaway Cay Getaway Package. This will be use by the kids. my dd will use the float and my ds will use the swim gear.

For anyone who is driving in like we are, I wanted to share our Cape Canaveral plans. I just booked our Saturday night stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Cape Canaveral. We stayed there last year and the people are extremely nice. The rooms aren't lavish, but they're very clean and comfortable. Our $154.10 rate (plus tax) for a two bedroom suite (and sofa bed) includes breakfast and "park and cruise" which saves you $20 per day at the terminal. They also provide free shuttle service to the terminal on the day of departure. They are located at 9009 Astronaut Boulevard and their number is 321-784-8500. They also have a nice pool area that the kids loved and they're conveniently located for several area restaurants.

I would like to go ashore to see what is there, and so that the kids can say that they have been there, but I am not thrilled with what I have been reading about the recent increase in crime. I would like to see what the straw market is all about, but after almost having my purse stolen in Aruba in a similar set up - I am leary about that as well. For those of you who have been there before, is it really that bad? I have heard the area outside the port building described as running the gauntlet. I am seriously giving some thought to just staying on the ship that day.

Leave your purse in the cabin, take a small amount of cash and just go and enjoy yourself. If you have visited any city in the USA, you know that crime is all around you. Just be aware of your surrounding.The last time we where there, my wife went ashore by herself,she had no problem. To protect our belongings we both have fanny packs and we keep them very secure and we do not let anyone get close to our bodies. Growing up in Chicago and working for their mass transit has taught me a lot about people and traveling.

After fighting with the DCL website for 2 days (sometimes the website is such a pain!) I have everything set for ressies. Decided to switch our Nassau excursion to the Blue Lagoon Beach Day. Wish I could have booked it directly with Blue Lagoon (to save $$) but evidently DCL has gotten wise to that trick and won't let people book directly with DCL shore excursion vendors. I hope April gets here quickly!! (And I also hope I can continue to keep the cruise secret from my kids!!)

Thanks for this tip, I am going to look into this. We are driving down (live in Charlotte NC). This hotel location sounds really convenient for when we go to Kennedy Space Center after the cruise before heading back home!

I hadn't check back here since September! We are still going, ya!!! It's our second cruise, our 1st Disney cruise. The girls are 12 and 9. They are so excited. We've been to WDW so many times, but never the cruise.

I just checked today and there are no rooms available showing at Atlantis or Comfort Inn. We were in Nassau our last cruise and Atlantis is the only reason we would get off the ship there. We didn't do it last time, but no rooms so staying on the ship. That is fine with us.

I'm really worried about my DD12 being either all over us or bored. She generally doesn't like kids clubs. Anyone have a DD12 going? I'd love for them to hook up.

I have a twelve year old daughter too. She thinks she is to grown up for the kids clubs. It sounds like your daughter is looking forward to it. Any words of advice for me to give my DD to get her to at least try it??

My kiddo loved the club our first time around. You should let her check out the area when you get onboard and sign her up ( no pressure) She can look over the planned activities in the Navigator each day and then decide if she wants to participate or not.The activities are varied and the clubs go till 12 am! The counselors are awesome and she'll meet kids from all over. She can self-checkout (if you are comfortable with that) which will give her freedom to plan her activities as well.
